Vehicle description

Model history:

The Town Car was an American car model, which belonged to the upper class and represented the flagship of the premium brand Lincoln - which belonged to the automobile manufacturer Ford. A total of 3 generations were created from 1981 to 2011, all of them had exclusive equipment and high-capacity engines to offer and attracted attention above all by their long wheelbase and the general length of the body: At that time, the Lincoln Town Car was one of the longest mass-produced American passenger cars. The 1st generation of the Lincoln Town Car available from 1981 received a small facelift in 1985 and was replaced by the 2nd generation in 1990.

General information about the vehicle:

Now a Lincoln Town Car from 1989 can be purchased in this auction, which comes from the USA and carries the FIN 1LNBM81F5KY760357. 2 owners are known to the vehicle, an H-approval and a TÜV, which runs until October 2023, already has the sedan. Although there is no exact history of the vehicle, the total mileage of this Lincoln Town Car can be traced according to the seller. It is also worth mentioning that this car has been completely repaired in 2022 by the current seller for just under € 12,000.

Exterior colour/varnish/body:

Visually, this Lincoln makes a lot - by its white paint color, the length of the car with the large-sized chrome bumpers comes into its own. Speaking of chrome - all chrome strips and trim elements are preserved on the exterior in complete condition. A contrast to the white paint color is the vehicle roof, which also provides a certain elegance. Whether a repainting has ever been carried out, the current owner can not answer - an accident-free in the current possession, however, he confirms. To get a more detailed overview of the exterior condition of the Lincoln, we refer to the photos and videos of the vehicle.

Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

New whitewall tires, which are mounted on steel rims with chrome hubcaps, provide the extended visual appearance of the American sedan. In the course of the repair work carried out in 2022, the chassis was overhauled and the shock absorbers and the front brakes were new.

Interior:

Luxuriously furnished and mostly contrasted in grey with dark wood décor elements, the apparently very expansive interior of the Lincoln Town Car is present. In 2022, the current seller renewed the entire interior and door panels as well as the footwell carpet. As defects in the interior, the current owner of this American sedan indicates the window regulator - which sometimes does not work - and a leaking power steering. In addition, the air conditioning is currently without function. The equipment on board the Lincoln includes central locking, power windows front and rear, electric seat adjustment, electric exterior mirrors and a modern retro radio. The exact condition of the interior can be found in the further photos.

Mileage

The 5-digit speedometer shows 20,064 miles - the seller states that the sedan has run a total of 120,064 miles and this mileage is also partially traceable. All instruments and displays in the instrument cluster appear to function properly.

Engine

The high-torque V8 engine of this Lincoln Town Car offers 4.9-liter displacement. 152 hp are delivered to the rear wheels via automatic transmission. Final service work took place in November 2022. Also in 2022, the engine and transmission were flushed, and the seller also renewed the injection system and the entire engine electrics. Finally, a new battery was installed in the car.

Subsoil:

From the underbody, the Lincoln presents itself in an apparently clean condition without inconsistencies. This 1989 Town Car offered here is for people who are looking for generous space, plenty of equipment and a high-capacity V8 engine in a long American luxury sedan. In addition, such a Lincoln Town Car offers the luxurious American flair of the 1980s.
