Vehicle description
When Porsche laid down the 996 series in 1997, an outcry of indignation went through the ranks of the so-called "cast irons", to whom fan cooling and round headlights always went above and beyond in the Elfer. But with the new Elfer, four-valve technology with two overhead camshafts was used for the first time. And the water cooling was comprehensible from a technical point of view, as this technology could be used to further expand the range of services. As a drive type, you could choose between rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, between coupé, targa or convertible. The special models of the 996 model generation immediately received a collector's status, which was probably already achieved in new car times. At the turn of the millennium, Porsche launched a special model of the Carrera 4: the anniversary model "Millennium Edition".
Only 911 copies of the so-called "Millennium Edition" of the Porsche 996 were built: This model from the year of construction 2000 offered here bears the number 666. The special model with the FIN WP0ZZZ99ZYS60301 is a re-import from Japan, according to the seller, the history of the car is completely and completely documented, as a complete proof of customer service is available. The sports car has a total of 2 holders, and there are also 2 vehicle keys. A general inspection will be carried out again before the handover. Matching numbers are given after consultation with the seller.
Typical for a special model is also the paint of the Porsche 996: This is a special paint and listens to the name "Violetchromaflair". With the exception of minor signs of age-related wear, the body of the sports car is in a very good and repaint-free condition. On the exterior, the following features can be found, which are included in the "Millennium Edition": The windshield has a green wedge, at the rear the exhaust tailpipes are chrome-plated and a rear window wiper is mounted, at the front you can see Litronic headlights (xenon). The seller states that no modifications have been made to the exterior of the 996, and that the Porsche is in an accident-free condition.
18-inch rims, which are known from the 996 Turbo and have been polished to a high gloss typical of the special model, adorn the exterior appearance with tires in good condition. The condition of the brakes can also be described as good, if you look further at the chassis components, there are no inconsistencies.
The interior design also has some special features of the "Millennium Edition": the Porsche is lined with full leather trim in cinnamon brown and there are maple root wood and aluminium applications on the doors, the gear knob, the handbrake lever and the steering wheel. In addition, the so-called Porsche Communication Management (PCM) is on board the 911, and sports seats with seat heating and electrical adjustment are also installed. There is a sunroof, the headliner is lined in black Alcantara, mirrors and seats have a memory function, for good sound in addition to the boxer engine in the rear also the sound package digital. A 6-fold CD changer is also on board, as are "911" door sills and Porsche Stability Management (PSM). Last but not least, for a limited special model, an anniversary plaque on the center console with a consecutive edition number is also part of the equipment scope. Neither damage nor defects can be found in the entire interior.
In the cockpit, the driver looks at the five round instruments typical of Porsche 911, which in this case are backed by white dials. The mileage of 52,700 can be proven by a completely managed customer service checkbook. This 996 was also always serviced in the Porsche Centre. All instruments in the interior have flawless functionality.
The six-cylinder boxer engine from a displacement of 3.4 litres delivers 300 hp, and the driver can shift up and down directly on the steering wheel via a 5-speed torque converter automatic transmission called Tiptronic. There are no defects in the field of technology, a final customer service was carried out at mileage 49,737. There is no repair backlog, the engine and transmission are dry and tight.
Like the body, the underbody of the Porsche 996 "Millennium Edition" also presents itself in a stainless state of preservation.
