Vehicle description
General information about the vehicle:
Now offered for sale in this auction is a right-hand drive Jaguar 3.8 MK 2 from first registration in 1961: The Jaguar with chassis number P203117DN was imported from the UK in 1981. The current owner purchased the vehicle in 2017 and is the fifth owner. The matching numbers are supported by a certificate from the Jaguar Heritage Trust. The car has original power steering assistance as well as a large folding sunroof - both extras in this combination are rare. Since 2017, the Jaguar MK 2 has been owned by the current owner, who emphasizes that the sedan has always passed the MOT without any defects since then. The car is handed over with a fresh MOT (also free of defects). The next MOT is therefore due in May 2025. An H-registration already ennobles the Jaguar. In addition to 2 vehicle keys, there are invoices, a complete service chronicle since 2017 as well as some documents of the previous owners.
Themileage of the Jaguar is therefore plausible.
Exterior color/paint/bodywork:
The bodywork shines in dark green, which is classic for English vehicles, and is equally convincing in terms of elegance and sportiness. Paint, chrome and the seals show a sympathetic patina corresponding to the age, which fits well to the authentic overall condition of the sedan.
Bonnet as well as individual areas on the sides were repainted according to the seller.
Modifications deviating from the original condition are not to be discovered on the body. The black folding roof presents itself in impeccable condition and is crack-free.
Exterior wheels/brakes/chassis:
This MK 2 has the original and popular chrome spoke wheels; according to the seller, the tires still have about 70% remaining tread
. Thecurrent owner of the Jaguar gives the braking system a condition rating of 50-70% and according to him there are no inconsistencies in the chassis.
Interior:
The beige leather harmonizes very well with the dark british racing green. The leather seats are neatly upholstered and the entire interior offers a cozy feel-good ambience with its trim elements as well as the wood decor. Optional equipment on this MK 2 includes: Overdrive, power steering assist, adjustable front seatbacks, radio ("His Masters Voice"). Other interior extras include large folding sunroof (Weathershield), Moto-Lita wood steering wheel and rear reading lamp. With the exception of the radio, all of the interior features work. To get a detailed picture of the condition of the interior, we recommend reviewing the many pictures - the videos about the vehicle also provide a detailed insight.
Mileage:
Due to a partially kept checkbook and the all-around well-maintained condition, the read mileage of 47,500 miles (equivalent to 76,450 kilometers) can be approximated
.
The available documents also include a small and large owner's manual.
With theexception of the clock, all dashboard instruments show full function.
Engine:
Under the hood is a 3.8-liter inline-six: this produces 220 SAE horsepower, and the driver engages gears via a 4-speed manual transmission (plus overdrive). A last service took place in November of the year 2022, and apart from a slight oil leak - which, according to the seller, is common for these types of vehicles - no defects can be discovered. The exhaust system is made of stainless steel except for the rear muffler, an electronic ignition provides for more reliability and an additional blower for better temperature conditions.
Underbody:
Except for superficial rust, no defects can be taken from the underside of this sedan - moreover, except for a subsequently attached towing lug, the underbody is in an unwelded condition. The seller states that despite its age, this Jaguar MK 2 is a reliable daily driver that has always been well cared for and meticulously maintained. This is a rare chance to buy the popular Sports Saloon with two not everyday extras. A box of various spare parts will be included when the vehicle is handed over.
