Vehicle description
Model history:
As the successor to the first generation of the BMW Z4, the second generation with the internal series designation E89 came onto the market in 2009. The new Z4 was presented to the public for the first time at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) – the roadster was available with four- and in-line six-cylinder. In contrast to its predecessor, which was produced at the BMW US Manufacturing Company plant in Greer (Spartanburg), the Z4 E89 rolled off the assembly line at the BMW plant in Regensburg. By 2016, more than 116,000 units of the BMW Z4 E89 had been produced, its successor - the Z4 G29 presented in 2018 - is the third and current generation of BMW's roadster.
General information about the vehicle:
The BMW Z4 from 2013 offered for auction here is a lightweight construction/special conversion. This Z4 was first registered with the FIN WBALM11090J130341 in Germany, a total of 2 owners are known to the Roadster. In addition to a complete checkbook, with which the history of this BMW can be proven beyond doubt, there is also a valuation report from the TÜV from 2021, which certifies the Z4 a replacement value of € 48,550. In addition, there is a thick folder with various documents about the vehicle. The TÜV is valid until July 2023.
Exterior colour/varnish/body:
Externally, this lightweight construction / special conversion is characterized by its white paint color, which has not been repainted since the first registration in 2013 according to the seller and is apparently in very good condition. The seller can completely rule out an accident and missing parts on the exterior are not to be criticized. To get an accurate picture of the modifications to the body, we recommend looking through the telling series of pictures for the Z4.
Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:
BMW multi-spoke rims are mounted on tires, which after consultation with the current owner still have about 70-90% of their new condition. In the area of brakes, the seller also estimates the condition at 70-90%. In terms of chassis technology, no inconsistencies can be seen.
Interior:
Strong attention was also paid to lightweight construction in the interior: the most striking features are the Recaro bucket seats with H-belts, the Alcantara OMP sports steering wheel with shift paddles and yellow 12 o'clock marking, and the digital display directly behind the steering wheel. The vehicle has a tarpaulin as a roof. In the footwell, a lot of material was saved and omitted. For a detailed overview of the conversion measures and various revisions in the interior, we refer to the photos and videos of this BMW Z4 Roadster. Overall, the seller speaks of a very well-preserved condition regarding the interior.
Mileage:
According to the current owner, this BMW Z4 has covered about 80,000 kilometers since its first registration in 2013 - due to the present, completely maintained checkbook, the total mileage can be traced. All instruments and displays work without any problems.
Engine:
The 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder engine of this Z4, which is charged via twin-scroll exhaust gas turbocharger, delivers 340 hp. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels by an 8-speed automatic transmission. Final service work took place after consultation with the seller in 2020.
Subsoil:
The current owner of the car describes the condition of the underbody as rustproof. With this BMW Z4 Roadster, the topic of lightweight construction was pursued - many special modifications have been made to this vehicle, which ensure that a normal Z4 becomes a particularly dynamic Z4. The complete history as well as the valuation report speak for themselves and the generally very good condition ensures absolute pleasure - not only when driving.
