Model history

The Daimler Double Six was the most luxurious model in the Jaguar XJ series and a sought-after collector's item even before production ended. With its powerful V12 engine and a top speed of 230 km/h, it was the fastest four-seater in the world at the time.
Despite the introduction of the Jaguar XJ40 in 1986, the Double Six remained in the program at the customer's request and received a handcrafted interior by Vanden Plas. At the end of production in 1992, Jaguar produced 1,500 examples of the "Last of the Line" edition with ABS brakes and improved corrosion protection - one of them for Queen Elizabeth II.
