The Mercedes-Benz 107 model series, produced from 1971 to 1989, replaced the W 113 "Pagoda" and set new design standards with broadband H4 headlights and fluted rear lights. The models, designed by Friedrich Geiger, were available as a roadster (R 107) and coupé (C 107). Engines ranged from in-line six-cylinder to V8 engines with a displacement of 2.8 to 5.5 liters. The R107 enjoyed great popularity, especially in the USA, and was known for its safety innovations and participation in major rallies such as the Safari Rally.
