Model history

The BMW E9 is regarded as one of the most style-defining German coupés of the 1970s. With elegant lines and sporty aspirations, the 2800CS was the first model in this series and at the same time an important image carrier for BMW. The combination of an elongated hood, striking "Hofmeister kink" and a silky-smooth six-cylinder in-line engine made the E9 not only successful in motorsport - for example as the basis for the legendary CSL racing cars - but also very popular with drivers with an eye for design and technology.

The coupé is rust-free, currently registered, has an H license plate and is TÜV-approved until March 2027. According to the owner, the vehicle was sold to Italy in 1979, where it belonged to an artist until 2020. It then returned to Germany, received an engine overhaul and a technical revision around 8,000 km ago and was presented to the TÜV. Since the purchase in 2021, around €7,500 has been invested in the transmission, oil pump, brakes, lighting and battery, among other things. An expert opinion gives the vehicle a grade of 1 and a replacement value of €61,200. Minor visual defects are present, but overall the car presents itself in solid overall condition - a stylish classic with history.
