Model history
The Volvo PV544 was produced from 1958 as the successor to the PV444. The very successful passenger car known as the "Humpback Volvo" was the first vehicle with three-point seat belts fitted as standard and other safety features typical of Volvo. With space for three adults in the back seat and good rust prevention due to the manufacturer, the PV544 remains a highly attractive car for any purpose. The B20 engine retrofitted here was used by Volvo in its vehicles from 1969 to 1981. It is regarded as one of the most reliable engines ever produced. It is almost identical in construction to its predecessor B18, the record holder with the world's highest mileage of almost 5 million km
