Vehicle description
Model history:
Originally developed as a military vehicle, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class rolled off the assembly line in Graz, Austria, from 1979 under the joint label Steyr-Daimler-Puch. At the beginning, Mercedes developers allied themselves with the off-road experts from Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Austria, where the G was significantly developed, tested and produced on the nearby local mountain Schöckl. At the beginning, the G was only sparsely motorized and sparsely equipped. The most powerful petrol engine of the W 460 series was the 2.8-litre six-cylinder in-line engine, while the most powerful diesel engine was a 3.0-litre in-line five-cylinder engine delivering 88 hp.
General information about the vehicle:
Now you have the opportunity in this auction to buy a Mercedes-Benz G / Steyr-Daimler-Puch G, which dates from the year of construction 1991 and has been registered for the first time in Germany with the VIN VAG46121717905536. To date, according to the seller, this vehicle has only 1 vehicle owner and it has recently been completely rebuilt. A checkbook can no longer be presented for this car, but after consultation with the current owner of the Mercedes-Benz Steyr-Daimler-Puch, the total mileage of the off-road vehicle can be traced. It is worth mentioning that the last completed TÜV is valid until January 2025.
Exterior colour/varnish/body:
In the course of the complete rebuilding of this Mercedes-Benz Steyr-Daimler-Puch by the company G-RAID, the vehicle was painted completely in a light blue color. In addition to the various attachments such as plastic elements, protective strips and bumpers, the dark green tarpaulin top can also be said to be in very good condition. According to the seller, there are no defects on the exterior that could tarnish the clean condition. For more details the many pictures and videos of this off-road vehicle offered here are available.
Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:
Tyres of the brand Bridgestone - which according to sellers estimate still have about 70-90% of their new condition - are mounted on black 6-spoke rims. In the area of brakes, the current owner estimates the condition at 70-90%, chassis technical are due to the recent rebuild no inconsistencies present.
Interior:
Although sparsely equipped, but with everything necessary on board, the interior presents itself: In addition to the dark green imitation leather seats, the jukeboxes between the seats and the touch display on the dashboard first catch the eye. Behind the driver's cockpit in the rear compartment of the off-road vehicle, there are many more seats arranged longitudinally to the direction of travel, which - folded up - also offer enough storage space and this ensures sufficient transport capacity. In addition, this off-road vehicle offered for auction here also has a trailer coupling. For a detailed overview of the interior and the equipment elements, we refer to the other photos.
Mileage:
All important functions are included in the instrument cluster - a mileage of 59,020 can be read on the 5-digit speedometer. The seller mentions that the mileage of this Mercedes-Benz Steyr-Daimler-Puch can be traced. All instruments, displays and controls in the interior obviously function perfectly.
Engine
The 2.3-liter in-line four-cylinder engine of this off-road vehicle delivers 116 hp, and the power is delivered to the wheels via an automatic transmission. After consultation with the seller, the technology works without any problems and a final service took place in 2020.
Subsoil:
The current holder describes the condition of the underbody as rustproof. It is worth mentioning that in the course of the complete rebuild of this car mainly original parts were installed and this off-road vehicle is now in a correspondingly clean condition. The cult surrounding the G-Class continues to this day – especially the idiosyncratic design, which was only marginally changed up to the latest generation, creates an incredibly large recognition value.
