Model history
The four-door version of the Mercedes-Benz W128, the 220 SE saloon, was only produced for one year from 10/1958 to 08/1959, with a total of just 1974 units. As the first fuel-injected vehicle in significant numbers, apart from the 300 SL, it is culturally and historically significant and particularly interesting for technology enthusiasts. The fuel injection system enabled a more spontaneous throttle response, sporty driving characteristics, reduced fuel consumption and a noticeable output of 115 hp. Its rarity and pioneering performance in injection technology make it particularly collectible.
