Vehicle description

Model history:

Although the Giulietta range was offered cheaper than all Alfa Romeo sports cars before, the types Berlina, Sprint and Spider were not vehicles for the masses. Only at the insistence of US importer Max Hoffmann - who saw potential in an open variant of the Giulietta - the Spider was realized. The fascinating thing about these cars for the enthusiasts was not only the technology but also the design. At the front, the typical V-shaped chrome grille dominated, which was flanked on the right and left by two chrome-framed air intakes. With a total of around 177,000 vehicles produced, the Giulietta series, built until 1964, was a great success for Alfa Romeo.

General information about the vehicle:

This Alfa Romeo released for auction here is a Giulietta Spider from 1962, which was first registered in July of the same year and is now to be sold. The matching numbers are no longer complete, as the standard engine of this Alfa Romeo has been replaced by a 1.6-liter from the Alfa 105 series. TÜV and an H-approval are given, the mileage is considered according to seller statements due to missing history as read.

Exterior colour/varnish/body:

Visually extremely elegant and additionally extroverted by the color, the silhouette of the red Giulietta Spider captivates - the soft top is classically kept in black and convinces with its apparently well-preserved condition. Furthermore, the body is in a modification-free condition and all chrome parts on the vehicle have a high degree of gloss. Gross inconsistencies on the exterior are not to be listed after consultation with the seller and also parking bumpers on the front or rear bumper can not be detected.

Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

On original silver steel rims, on which chrome hubcaps with the Alfa Romeo logo are mounted, tires with apparently sufficient tread are mounted. The current owner attests to the brake system and the chassis a clean condition without impairments.

Interior:

The graceful elegance that is presented in the exterior continues in the interior of this Alfa Romeo Giulietta: black leather seats, a 3-spoke wooden steering wheel, filigree switches and fittings as well as the body-coloured dashboard cause a sensation. Strong signs of wear or even missing parts in the interior are not to be criticized. The soft top can be easily opened and locked again. As an equipment element, this Spider has, among other things, a contemporary radio. In order to look at the interior in detail and to take a closer look at the condition, we recommend looking through the telling series of pictures of this vehicle.

Mileage:

3 round instruments framed in chrome are located directly in the driver's field of vision - according to the seller, a mileage of 45,960 miles can be read on the speedometer. Restrictions in the function of the instruments cannot be criticized.

Engine

The original 1.3-liter inline four-cylinder engine was exchanged in this Giulietta by the last owner for a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder, which now makes 111 hp. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission.

Subsoil:

Complaints on the underbody can apparently not be made, since a good substance can be taken here. The slightly more powerful engine helps this Giulietta to more power and thus more driving dynamics - nevertheless, according to sellers, this Spider remains stylish and unmistakable. Now the Italian sports car classic with a few kilometers on the clock is waiting for its new owner, who drives with him towards the sunset.
