Vehicle description

Model history:

As the successor to the Healey 100, the British Motor Corporation launched the so-called Austin-Healey 3000 in 1959, which provided significantly more comfort with its full-fledged folding hood instead of an emergency hood or with its side windows that can be retracted by hand crank. On request, the English roadster could even be ordered as a 2+2-seater. In total, there were three series of the Austin-Healey 3000. With the Mk3 introduced in 1964, the engine power of the 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder increased to 150 hp and the instrument panel and chassis were revised, among other things. In 1967, BMC discontinued production of the Austin-Healey 3000.

General information about the vehicle:

An Austin-Healey 3000 built in 1967 can now be bought at auction: This Mk3, which was first registered for traffic in July 1967, is one of the last models built. According to the seller, the British roadster has only 2 vehicle owners and was restored some time ago. The car is already in possession of an H-approval, the main inspection was recently renewed.

Exterior colour/varnish/body:

As a paint color, this Austin-Healey 3000 Mk3 carries a dark green color, which harmonizes extremely well in combination with the many chrome trim elements on the vehicle. Over the years, the hood has been renewed and replaced by a Sonnenland convertible top, which presents itself in its current condition undamaged and perfectly preserved. Overall, the seller attests to the exterior a very well-kept condition without inconsistencies or modifications. For more details, please have a look at the other photos and videos.

Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

Very well-preserved tyres of the Vredestein brand are mounted on original 16-inch chrome spoke wheels. According to the current owner, neither in the area of the brakes nor in the chassis area damage can be identified.

Interior:

In the interior of the Austin-Healey 3000 Mk3 there are black leather seats, which are preserved in undamaged condition and harmonize well with the exterior color of the car. Visually, the wood/aluminium 3-spoke Moto-Lita steering wheel and the wooden dashboard are particularly striking in the interior. In addition to a lockable glove compartment, this vehicle also has a contemporary radio with a radio speaker integrated in the center console. According to the seller, neither damage nor missing parts can be found in the interior of the Austin-Healey.

Mileage

The instruments in the driver's cockpit are framed in chrome: the five-digit speedometer shows a mileage of almost 73,200 miles. It is striking that all instruments in the interior work perfectly.

Engine

Under the bonnet of this Austin-Healey 3000 Mk3 is a 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder, which makes 150 hp. Via a 4-speed gearbox (which is equipped with an overdrive for the 3rd and 4th gear) the power is brought to the road via the rear wheels.

Subsoil:

According to the seller, complaints on the underside of the British roadster cannot be made. An Austin-Healey 3000 offers purist driving pleasure, the Mk3 as the last series benefits from being the most mature model. If you want to call a typical British roadster your own, which you would also like to use, for example, in classic car rallies, this dark green Austin-Healey 3000 with its very well-kept overall condition is recommended.
