Vehicle description
Model history:
The first turbocharged road-going 911 appeared in 1975, at that time with a 260-hp three-liter boxer engine, but already with a widened rear end and this imposing wing. Porsche's new top model is regarded as the world's first series-produced sports coupé with an exhaust gas turbocharger, and at a genuine 250 km/h it is also the fastest German road car. In 1977, in response to strong demand, Porsche delivered a 3.3-liter version with intercooling, boosting output to 300 hp. If this figure was still not enough, a so-called "sports kit" could be ordered from the factory or subsequently from Porsche for over DM 20,000, which provided various optimizations for the 930 and thus increased the horsepower figure to 330.
General information about the vehicle:
A Porsche 911 Turbo from the first registration in 1984, which was equipped with a sports kit (a factory performance upgrade, so to speak), can now be purchased in this auction. This 930 Turbo, which carries the VIN WP0ZZ93ZES000429, is a frame-off restored vehicle with matching numbers, which according to the seller has only 3 keepers and had MOT until March 2025. In the possession of a H-registration the Zuffenhausen sports car is already. After consultation with the current owner the vehicle documents as well as the complete history and also the vehicle title can be presented. Also available is a photo documentation plus evidence of the restoration work.
Exterior color/paint/bodywork:
The body of the Porsche Turbo is classically black - in the course of the frame-off restoration, a complete new paint job was carried out. All add-on parts on the vehicle show up in very good condition on the exterior and from the look this 930 Turbo stands out due to its extremely well-kept condition. Inconsistencies on the exterior are according to the seller no to mention, also an accident-free in the current ownership is confirmed by him. In addition, no modifications to the bodywork can be identified that would detract from the original appearance of this Porsche.
Theexact condition of the exterior can be seen in the additional photos.
Exterior Rims/Brakes/Chassis:
Continental tires are mounted on classic Porsche Fuchs rims, which - just like the alloy rims - came new only recently. The seller also describes the condition of the brake system as new, as it was renewed in the course of the frame-off restoration. Inconsistencies in the area of the chassis can apparently not be called.
Interior:
The interior of this Porsche 930 is just as black as the exterior: Sports seats with thick side bolsters provide decent lateral support, while the leather ensures supple seating comfort. The equipment on board this Porsche 911 Turbo includes the following features: Air conditioning, sunroof, power windows, three-spoke leather steering wheel, and a Blaupunkt cassette radio. The seller has it mentioned that the air conditioning has been replaced and generally no inconsistencies can be found in the interior of the 911 that would affect its very good condition. For more details, please have a look at the other photos and videos about the car.
Mileage:
1,180 kilometers have been covered by this car since the completed frame-off restoration. Documents available for the Porsche include photo documentation as well as receipts of the restoration, the voided original vehicle title and complete history. All instruments in the interior can be said to be in perfect working order.
Engine:
Due to the factory power increase, the six-cylinder boxer turbo engine (engine type 930/66) brings it to a whopping 330 hp. This increased output was made possible, among other things, by a larger turbocharger with optimized intercooler and a four-pipe exhaust system. A 4-speed manual transmission is used to manually engage the individual gears and thus transmit the power of the 6 cylinders to the rear axle. Engine and transmission are revised, in addition, the clutch came new. It is also worth mentioning that all wear parts were either repaired or replaced with original parts and a final service took place in March 2023.
Underbody:
On the underside, of course, the traces of the recently completed restoration measures show - accordingly, the underbody is kept clean. The world belongs to the brave, as the saying goes. In terms of the world of automotive driving dynamics, this has primarily been the drivers of a Porsche 911 Turbo for almost 50 years. Its character is special, its power infernal, and its behavior at the limits selective. A 911 Turbo challenges a person like no other sports car. In the case of this Porsche 930 - equipped with a so-called sports kit ex works - the recent frame-off restoration ensures that this is an extremely good 911 Turbo that can be enjoyed to the full by its future owner.
