Model history

The Alpina C2 was introduced in 1985 and built on the success of its predecessor, the Alpina C1. The C1, based on the BMW E21, was Alpina's first attempt to refine the BMW 3 Series. The C2, based on the E30, featured powerful M20 engines. The 2.5-liter engine delivered 185 hp, while the 2.7-liter engine reached up to 210 hp. Special Mahle pistons and modified cylinder heads characterized the C2.
