Vehicle description

Model history:

After a phase of ever-larger tail fins, which reached its formal peak at the end of the 1950s, Cadillac found its adherence to conservative body design at the beginning of the 60s and permanently increased the engine power of its luxury cars. Depending on the model, the displacement was between 6.3 liters and 8.2 liters. The Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado series offered from 1971 to 1978 was equipped with front-wheel drive like its predecessor and the models were considered the largest front-wheel drive passenger cars in the world at the time. As the only convertible remaining in the Cadillac program, there was from 1971 in addition to the coupe and the Fleetwood Eldorado Convertible.

General information about the vehicle:

The Cadillac released for auction in this auction is a Fleetwood Eldorado convertible from 1973, which was first registered for traffic in July of the same year and has been partially restored over the years. As chassis number, this American convertible carries 6L67S3Q434103, matching numbers are completely given after consultation with the seller and the Cadillac already has a German H-approval.

Exterior colour/varnish/body:

Visually, this Cadillac impresses above all with its sweeping body, which has various red decorative stripes in addition to the white paintwork. Massive chrome bumpers at the front and rear stretch the car by a few centimeters and the large front grille made of chrome, which is framed by double headlights left and right, also ensures a decent presence. The hood is kept in dark red - it is crack-free. According to the seller, the exterior is in a well-preserved condition without major inconsistencies, and the current owner can rule out an accident.

Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

Chrome hubcaps together with whitewall tires provide the extended visual appearance of the Fleetwood Eldorado Convertible. According to the current owner, neither in the area of the brake system nor in the area of the chassis are modifications deviating from the original condition.

Interior:

Due to the external dimensions of this Cadillac, the interior of the car naturally offers enough space for driver and passengers. Almost the entire interior of the convertible is kept in red, only some parts in the dashboard and on the door panels are black or backed with wood décor. On the whole, the interior can be said to be clean and all displays and instruments are fully functional, according to the seller. Furthermore, the hood is completely easy to open and close again. In addition to the full leather interior, the equipment on board includes power steering, power windows, air conditioning and an original radio.

Mileage

The speedometer shows a mileage of 58,750 miles - this would result in a mileage of about 96,160. All displays in the instrument cluster of this Cadillac obviously go after their service without hesitation.

Engine

The powerful V8 engine of this Fleetwood Eldorado convertible has a full 8.2-liter displacement under the hood. 238 hp are delivered to the front wheels by means of a 3-speed automatic transmission.

Subsoil:

A clean condition can apparently be seen on the underbody. The seller also notes that this convertible drives silky smooth and floats slightly over the road due to the comfortably laid out chassis. In the mid-1970s, the Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado Convertible was considered "America's last convertible", and in 1976 the last open models rolled off the production line. With this Fleetwood Eldorado Convertible offered here, the future owner secures a piece of American automotive history, which is also cheap to maintain due to the H-approval.
