The Opel Olympia Rekord, which replaced the Opel Olympia in March 1953, was a pioneering family car with a modern pontoon body and distinctive design elements from the USA. Annual facelifts gave the vehicle a fresh look and contributed to its continued commercial success by continuously generating attention. With around 580,000 units produced and regular second place in the German sales charts, the Olympic record set new standards.
