Vehicle description
The 911 of the 997 model series marked a return to the classic form for the sports car manufacturer Porsche when it was introduced in 2004. Spoilers and air intakes are again kept more discreet, and the oval headlights with separate turn signals bring a reflection on the "classic look" after the styling of the 996 influenced by the Boxster. The base model of the 911 of the 997 series had a 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer engine with 325 hp, which enabled a top speed of a good 285 km/h. By the end of production in 2012, Porsche had produced just over 211,000 units of all model variations of the 997, with almost 24,000 units of the classic Carrera Coupé produced.
A classic 911 coupé can now also be purchased in this auction: The 997 offered here is a Carrera Coupé from the year of construction 2005, which was originally delivered in Germany and still has a total of 5 holders. The history of this Zuffenhausen sports car with the FIN WP0ZZZ99Z5S700515 can be traced according to the seller's information through various documents. TÜV owns this 911 until November 2022, the so-called matching numbers are assumed, 2 vehicle keys are still available to the 997.
In terms of paint, the silver Porsche Carrera is in extremely good condition, scratches or paint chips on the body can not be detected – in addition, the current holder is not aware of any repainting. As an external conspicuousness, the seller indicates smaller dents on the roof. Front and rear bumpers are to be found in a damage-free condition, parking bumpers are not discernible here. "Carrera" is written on the rear lid of the Porsche 997 – above it is the extendable spoiler, which provides more downforce at higher speeds.
Only the tyres, which come from the production year 2018 and are mounted in the dimensions 235/40 on the front axle and 265/40 on the rear axle on 18-inch Porsche 5-spoke rims, have run 2,000 kilometres. The current owner states that the condition of the brakes is good, and the chassis of the Porsche 997 Carrera Coupé is also in good condition.
Mostly in black with a few silver accents, the interior of the Zuffenhausen sports car, which is in good condition in this Porsche, is kept. With the exception of a minimally worn outer side bolsters of the full leather driver's seat and slightly worn controls in the centre console, no complaints can be made in the interior. In addition to the sunroof and power steering, this Porsche also has central locking, electric windows, electric adjustable seats, memory seat, heated seats, air conditioning, ABS, cruise control, suede headliner and a radio with display as well as hands-free system and navigation function.
In the 997 model series, too, 5 round instruments adorn the driver's cockpit – as in its predecessors: the display in the speed display shows a mileage of 110,440 kilometres. According to the seller, this mileage can be made credible via various invoices and former TÜV reports. The instruments in the interior can all be taken from a full function.
The 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer engine in the rear of the 997 provides 325 hp, and the individual gears are engaged via a manual 6-speed transmission. In autumn 2021, the last service work took place, catalytic converters and lambda sensors were only recently replaced. Apart from a small inspection according to the seller, there is currently no work to be done on this Porsche 997 Carrera Coupé.
The subfloor can be found well and without complaints. With the 997 series, Porsche returned to the classic front with oval headlights, so the design of the 997 made it timeless and pleasing for many fans of the brand. The Porsche 911 offered here is the classically beautiful Carrera Coupé variant, which is ideally equipped for sporty country road driving as well as everyday use. In addition, the 997 to be auctioned in this auction is in complete original condition without any modifications.
