Vehicle description
Model history:
Machines from Honda played a major role in shaping the motorcycle world from the mid-1960s. First came the CB450, followed by the CB750 Four, and later the GL 1000 GoldWing, which Honda first introduced at the IFMA (International Bicycle and Motorcycle Exhibition) in Cologne in 1974 and was a touring motorcycle with a water-cooled four-cylinder boxer engine and cardan drive. The GL 1000 models K0 to K2 were built from 1974 to 1978, and the K3 was produced from 1978 to 1979. The maximum speed of the first Honda GoldWing was specified at that time with over 200 km/h.
General information about the vehicle:
With the motorcycle offered here from the house Honda it concerns the No. 1 of 6 ever designed Honda force GL 1000 from the year of manufacture 1976, which was created by the designer Otl Aicher from Rotis with Kempten. For the first time this GoldWing was registered in Germany, only 1 owner had the Honda motorcycle with the chassis number GL1-2033838 since first registration in the possession. In addition to the so-called Matching Numbers can also be a variety of historical documents as well as documents to this Honda power 1000 GL presented, which can be traced the history of the motorcycle very well. TÜV has the motorcycle until April 2024. Further worth mentioning is that the keys for ignition, fuel filler flap and steering wheel lock are present.
Exterior color/paint/body:
20 years this motorcycle stood in the barn, then it was revised and made ready to ride again. A unique feature of the green paint color on this Honda power is that the color transitions from dark to light from front to back, creating an interesting effect. At the exterior are after consultation with the seller all attachments as well as trim elements in good and at the same time complete condition, the chrome still shines as it should and an accident can be completely ruled out by the current owner.
Exterior Rims/Brakes/Suspension:
2sets of rims - which can also be seen in the various photos of the documents for exactly this GoldWing - are present
.
The condition of the brake system is rated by the seller as well as the condition of the tires at about 70-90% of their new condition.
There areno modifications to the chassis that deviate from the original condition.
Interior:
If you want to take a seat on the motorcycle, you will sit on a black leather seat that is not scuffed or torn and is in good condition, as are the hand grips. According to the seller, there are a few traces of use, but it can be said that this Honda motorcycle is in an extremely well-maintained and well-preserved condition. To get a detailed picture of the overall condition of this motorcycle, we recommend looking through the photo series to the Honda.
mileage
White numbers are on a green dial - 26,500 kilometers has run this motorcycle. All gauges and controls are in perfect working order. A lot of documentation is available for this Honda Kraft 1000 GL. Exactly this model was the press motorcycle from the presentation in 1976 and at the same time the No. 1 of 6 Kraft models. All photos of the advertising material come according to salesman data from this Honda offered here, shining in green original varnish. Many contemporary newspaper clippings, copies, posters as well as price lists from 1976 have been collected and saved over the years. Another highlight is that this Honda power has even brought it to a card quartet - this is of course also present.
Engine
88 hp is the water-cooled four-cylinder boxer engine with 1000 cc displacement. The power transmission from the gearbox to the rear wheel on the Goldwing GL 1000 is via a low-maintenance cardan drive. A final service was performed on this GoldWing in 2022, and the seller states that the engine - after the machine had been sitting in the shed for 20 years - underwent a complete overhaul and the bike now runs and rides silky smooth.
Itis also worth mentioning that the exhaust from the press launch is of course present and included.
Underbody:
Corrosion on this motorcycle can apparently not be found, all components are in good shape. Due to its innovative technology and its myth, the GL 1000 has already become a living legend and the Honda Kraft GL 1000 offered here as No. 1 of 6 Kraft models ever designed represents a collector's item from Honda due to its rarity and the rich and detailed documentation.
