Vehicle description

Model history:

In this auction you have the opportunity to buy a Jaguar Mk 2 3.8 from 1966. This was produced between 1959 and 1967 almost 30,000 times. The 3.8-liter engine variant was characterized by a variety of improvements over the previous model, including better performance and a more appealing design.

General information about the vehicle

The Jaguar was imported from the United Kingdom in 1984 and since then had only one owner (a lady, no usual descriptions in the family or similar – 1 owner entry) in Germany. In addition, the classic car has the popular H-license plate and still has TÜV until March 2024. The car has not been registered since the end of 2022, but is fully roadworthy and accident-free in its current possession. In addition, the owner states that the popular Jaguar has matching numbers. – This can at least be assumed strongly, but has not been examined. According to the seller, the history up to 1978 can be traced almost completely on the basis of a folder full of documents. A current Classic Data report from 2022 about 32,000 € is available.

Exterior colour/varnish/body:

The exterior of the Jaguar is painted in the manufacturer's color beige. According to the seller, the entire car, except for the roof, was painted in its original color during a partial restoration in a specialist workshop at the end of the 1990s / beginning of the 2000s. This also included body work, esp. at the doors. Cavity preservation has also been carried out. Today, the body and paint have an age-typical patina.

Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

The Jaguar Mk 2 3.8 1966 features the original spoke rims. According to the seller, however, the mounted tires are in need of renewal because of their age. The brakes are in good condition and fully functional, with an estimated 70 to 90% condition.

Interior:

With an elegant red leather interior, the interior of the Jaguar knows how to convince. (Interior is completely original!) Another eye-catcher in the interior is of course the dashboard and also the original radio. The leather is in an age-appropriate good condition without cracks or other damage, further details can be taken from the pictures.

Mileage:

On the speedometer it can be seen that the classic car has gained about 31,026 miles (about 49,641 km) of experience. According to information from the owner, the mileage is traceable by several existing documents, including no checkbook. In addition, between 1978 and 1982, the odometer was replaced at 8000 miles (about 12,875 km). This value must therefore be added to the mileage. The total mileage is thus 39,026 miles (about 62,806 km). According to the seller, the rev counter is without function.

Engine:

As the name suggests, a 3.8-liter engine with an impressive 220 hp lies dormant in the Jaguar. The whole thing is powered by a manual transmission with overdrive. Available information dates the last service to 2022.

Subsoil:

The condition of the underbody of the Jaguar Mk 2 3.8 1966 is welded according to the seller, further impressions of the underbody can be found in the pictures. However, there is no further information on possible repairs or maintenance work. As already mentioned, new tires are needed.

Who is this car for?

In summary, here is the chance to bid for an absolute classic. Whether collectors, enthusiasts, enthusiasts or even people interested in the history of the automotive industry, this classic car is a must-have.
