- The Opel Rekord P1, introduced in 1957, followed the successful Olympic record. With various engine variants, including four-cylinder in-line engines with displacements ranging from 1.2 to 1.7 litres, it offered a wide range of choices. The advanced pontoon shape and modern design made it a success. The P1 continued Opel's tradition of progressive family sedans and was produced until 1960.
