Vehicle description

Model history:

The fact that the air-cooled 911 heart had to make way for a water-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine for the first time in the 996 series caused a storm of indignation among the cast-iron 911 faction, as did the fact that the 2+2-seater shared around 40 percent of its model range with the Boxster (Type 986), which was developed in parallel. However, the development potential of the air-cooled boxer engine had long since been exhausted. With the new, extremely complex water boxer, modern four-valve technology, more power with acceptable fuel consumption and compliance with stricter emissions standards were possible. In addition to the Coupé and Targa, a completely open variant of the 996 was again offered: The new 911 Cabrio no longer had a bead when open - the top disappears completely under a flap.

General information about the vehicle:

A Porsche 911 Cabriolet from the 996 series can now be purchased in this auction. This Porsche with the VIN WP0ZZ99Z1S641168 is a model from the year 2000, which was once a demonstration car at Porsche and then, according to the seller, was exchanged within the family. Due to an existing checkbook - which has been kept almost completely - the history of this 911 can be proven decently, matching numbers are given completely. Furthermore it is worth mentioning that even the original confirmation of the sales contract from the delivery of this Porsche is still available - from this it can be read out that the 911 Cabriolet once cost over 161,773 DM. The last general inspection was valid until November 2024.

Exterior color/paint/bodywork:

Visually, this 996 from the early series presents itself in a dark blue - even the soft top is in a blue color tone and thus fits perfectly with the overall appearance of this convertible. As far as the current owner is aware, no repainting has been done to the body of the car and the soft top shows no cracks. As minor defects on the body of the Porsche, the seller states light paint blisters on the front bumper, a 3mm paint chip on the rear spoiler and minimal wash scratches in the paint. An accident can be ruled out by the current owner of the vehicle.

Exterior Rims/Brakes/Chassis:

Michelin brand

tires

from the 2018/2019 production year are mounted on original 5-spoke Turbo Carrera aluminum rims and, according to the seller's statements, are in 70-90% condition when new

. The

current owner of the 911 attests to the brakes being in 50-70% condition, and he is not aware of any inconsistencies in the area of the chassis.

Interior:

Blue color can also be found in the interior of this Porsche 996 Cabriolet: the leather as well as many plastic elements are in dark blue. Apart from slight signs of wear in the side bolsters of the full leather driver's seat, there are no rough signs of use to be found in the interior of this 911 - which, according to the seller, is almost fully equipped. The car's features include power windows, heated seats, air conditioning, ABS and a Kenwood accessory radio. The following items were also part of the special equipment:

  • Full leather metropolitan blue
  • Autom. Abblend. Interior/exterior mirrors with rain sensor
  • Seat heating
  • Headrest with gep. Porsche Crest
  • Stainless steel tailpipes
  • Shift lever Alu/ leather
  • Headlight cleaning system

  • airbag steering wheel,
  • Sound package incl. Amplifier (super sound!)
  • Wind
  • deflector
  • Litronic headlights
  • Nokia telephone pre-hire

  • Raffledersitze
  • All equipment characteristics of the Porsche function perfectly and also all controls are full function preserved. To get a detailed picture of the condition of the interior, please refer to the meaningful series of pictures for this vehicle.

    Mileage

191,000 kilometers can be seen on the digital speedometer of this Porsche 996 Cabriolet: The last checkbook entry is at 178,000 kilometers. Due to a partially almost complete checkbook and the available history, this mileage can be tracked according to the seller. There is a gap between 140,000 and 180,000 kilometers, as the Porsche was moved very little for some time during that period. According to the previous owner, maintenance during this period was carried out partly independently by the master.

    Engine

In the rear works a water-cooled 3.4-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, which delivers 300 hp via a 6-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels. The last oil change with oil filter took place 3 months ago.

    The

cabin filter and air filter were also changed and according to the seller no abrasion was detected (pictures available) - the engine runs perfectly and as it should and without oil consumption according to the current owner.

    Underbody:

Considering the total mileage of the convertible, the underbody can be attested a good state of preservation as no inconsistencies can be detected on the underside of this 911. The seller also mentions that he has driven over 10,000 kilometers with the convertible and that the Porsche has had no oil consumption during this time. A good as well as maintained overall condition, Special equipment, the color combination in blue / blue and the possibility to open the roof at any time, make this 996 from the year 2000 very interesting.
