Vehicle description
Introduction
In 2006, Jeep introduced the so-called Commander, which was based on the floor assembly of the Grand Cherokee and was the top model within the Jeep model range. The Commander was produced at Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria, among others. As usual with Jeep, there were different trim levels such as Sport, Limited and Overland. In Europe, there were the 4.7-liter and a 5.7-liter V8 engine among the gasoline engines, and a 3.0-liter V6 engine was available as diesel - all Commander models produced for the European market were equipped exclusively with all-wheel drive and off-road reduction.
General information about the vehicle
Here is now a Jeep Commander Limited V6 3.0 with first registration in 2006 for auction, which comes from Spain (Tenerife) and has been imported to Austria over the years. This accident-free jeep with the VIN 1J83E8M86Y135437 comes from 2nd hand and, according to the seller, has the so-called "matching numbers". The Commander has already been cleared through customs and registered in Austria, and an Austrian inspection shows that it is valid until May 2024.
Characteristics
- Exterior and interior: The paintwork is in a shade of gray, repainting, according to the seller, took place on the rear bumper (due to a small superficial parking bump) as well as on the front left fender. Dark brown leather seats and wooden trim elements can be found in the interior, among other things.
- Engine and transmission: A Daimler-Benz diesel engine (OM 642) is used in this Jeep Commander. The V6 with 3.0-liter displacement produces 218 hp and has a maximum torque of 510 Nm - shifted via an automatic transmission. The power is transferred to the road by all-wheel drive. A last engine service took place in Spain in March 2023.
- Mileage: According to the seller, 148,100 kilometers of mileage can be read from the digital speedometer of this jeep - according to him, this mileage can be traced.
- Documentation: There is a folder full of invoices for the history of this Commander, as well as Austrian registration papers and an inspection report.
Condition
- Just recently, this Commander got new tires (all-season tires) fitted, the seller estimates the condition of the brakes somewhere between 50-70% of their new condition.
- The condition of the underbody is indicated by the current owner as cleanly preserved.
- Please see the photo gallery and videos for more insight into the condition of the vehicle.
Highlights
- Recently, according to the seller, the diesel lines have been replaced. According to the current owner, the previous owner of this Jeep Commander was an elderly gentleman who had meticulously cared for the car, and this jeep is said to have never been off-road. In terms of equipment, it has the "Limited" package, which includes leather seats including heated seats and parking aid.
Summary
- Due to its angular body shape, the Commander is somewhat reminiscent of the old Cherokee XJ, due to the vertical windows and headlights as well as flared wheel arches, the Jeep equipped with 7 seats shows a beefy appearance. Due to the meticulousness of the previous owner and the renunciation of off-road use, this Commander has, according to the seller, an all-round well-maintained and original condition. In addition, a folder full of invoices is included for the traceability of the history. Ample interior space (for 7 people), chic leather, a high-torque diesel engine and a masculine appearance of the body make this Jeep Commander a characterful companion for everyday life.
