Vehicle description
Model history
Founded in 1955 under the name Metalúrgica de Santa Ana for the construction of agricultural machinery, the factory became a licensed manufacturer of the second Land Rover series in 1956. The Santana was a licensed Land Rover model, which was largely manufactured without parts from the main factory. Santana produced various models and was also extremely popular outside Spain among farmers and the military. With the 2500 series, significant changes were made to the existing models. Among other things, the Super T was the first turbocharged version of the 2.25-liter diesel engine, with an output of 75 hp and a torque of 180 Nm - three years before the British turbo diesel. The change to the much softer parabolic springs laid the foundation for a contemporary further development of the robust leaf spring suspension. In 1991, Suzuki became the majority owner of Santana, and the company has been called Santana Motors ever since. Production of the Santana 2500 ended in 1994.

After years in military ownership, the vehicle was decommissioned and sold on the used car market in Spain. The vehicle was demilitarized accordingly and offered as a civilian vehicle on the used car market in Spain before it was sold and transferred to Germany. Nuremberg is the first stop on German soil. From there, the vehicle was sold to Hennigsdorf. It has been used to tow stock cars on selected weekends since around 2013. Otherwise, it was rarely driven. The transfer to the current ownership took place in February 2020. The "Landy" has been extensively restored since then.
