Vehicle description

Model history

The second generation of the Chevrolet Corvette was introduced in 1962. Known as the Sting Ray version, the Chevrolet Corvette C2 was developed and marketed by Chevrolet. Larry Shinoda and Bill Mitchell were responsible for the design. This time, the Corvette was produced not only as a coupe, but also as a convertible. This move turned out to be successful for Chevrolet. Another distinctive feature of the Corvette C2 was the rotating and folding headlights as well as the split rear window on the coupe. The Sting Ray was also convincing from a technical point of view. The V8 engine was initially adopted from the Corvette C1 and replaced by a big block engine in later models. Between 1962 and 1967, a total of almost 118,000 vehicles were produced.
