Vehicle description
Purists today often refer to the Porsche 993 as the last "real" 911, as the era of air-cooled boxer engines at Porsche ended with the series. But the successor to the 964 was also able to score points in other qualities when it was introduced in 1993: Subjected to a far-reaching overhaul both technically and visually, the 911 henceforth appeared much more modern and dynamic without losing the essence of its ancestors, and thus set new standards in the sports car segment. The completely redesigned aluminium LSA chassis combined lightweight construction, stability and agility and helped the 993 to achieve greater driving dynamics with improved suspension comfort. Visually, the Zuffenhausen-based company also succeeded in combining the symbiosis of tradition and modernity with the 993: unmistakably recognisable as the 911, the classic design of the traditional series was reinterpreted. From then on, the bumpers were harmoniously integrated into the body, which with its wider and flatter fenders ensured a self-confident, dynamic appearance. The engine range ranged from 272 hp and 286 hp respectively for the Carrera and Targa models to 408 hp for the turbo model.
In this auction, it is now possible to bid for a Porsche 911 Convertible of the 993 series. The car with the VIN WP0CA2998VS341570 from the year of construction 1997 was first registered in July 1997 in the United States. The history of the car is partially traceable through invoices, TüV reports and checkbook entries. According to the seller, the vehicle has matching numbers. A report from November 2018 worth € 95,000 is available. There is currently no more recent report. The Porsche has a valid main inspection until June 2023. The Porsche comes with a key.
Porsche refers to the exterior colour of the 993 Convertible as "firn white". The seller suspects that the body has been subjected to a complete repainting, which shows the paint of the Porsche in very good condition. According to the seller, the paint has two minor defects, which can be traced in the gallery. The seller states that the car in his possession is accident-free. After the import from the USA, the Porsche was converted to the German version, which means the conversion of the bumpers, the dismantling of the third brake light and the adaptation of the chassis to the German standard.
The original 17-inch Porsche alloy wheels are in a well-groomed appearance, and the seller also describes the condition of the tires as good. Only one of the Porsche crests on one of the rims is missing. According to the seller, the brakes are also in good shape.
The interior of the 993, including the sumptuous leather interiors, is entirely in grey. In the interior, there are slight signs of wear and tear from previous years, which focus on the shift knob of the manual transmission and the driver's seat. Hardly any signs of wear are visible on the temperature controllers and control elements. A retrofitted radio from Alpine is installed in the fittings of the Porsche. Other features include central locking, power steering, power windows, air conditioning, ABS and cruise control.
In the 993, too, the instrument panel is kept in classic Porsche style, in which five round instruments represent the relevant information. Based on the speedometer, which is located to the right of the centrally mounted rev counter, a mileage of 52,208 mi can be read. The original MPH speedometer was replaced by a German KM/H speedometer during the conversion to the EU standard. Despite the KM speedometer, the counter still runs on miles, so the car has run almost 84,042 km. This mileage is traceable by enclosed invoices, TüV reports and checkbook entries. According to the information, the instruments work flawlessly.
In the rear of the 993 Coupé rests the air-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine, which produces a maximum rated power of 286 hp with a displacement of 3600 cm³. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels by means of a manual six-speed manual transmission. According to the seller, the Porsche received the last service only recently. Most recently, the technology of the car was revised. Pending repairs are not known according to the information.
The condition of the subfloor is stated by the seller as good. Here you have the chance to buy a Porsche Convertible from the coveted 993 series. According to the seller, the car is in a very well-kept condition. The manual transmission and the special color configuration make this Porsche 993 a car not to be missed.

Comments of this past auction
