Model history:

A new generation of the SL series appeared in 2001, as usual with many innovations. The R 230 appeared fresh and modern. Rounded lines signaled the arrival of the SL in the 21st century. A folding aluminum roof allowed the Swabian to be transformed from a full-fledged coupe into a chic roadster in a matter of seconds. But a lot had changed under the sheet metal, too. Optional systems such as SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control), in conjunction with Active Body Control, ensured that body movement was minimized when braking or cornering. Until 2011, Mercedes-Benz produced a total of just under 170,000 units of the R 230.

The complete foiling of the body in the color "anthracite" immediately catches the eye on the exterior - apart from one spot on the front bumper, which according to the seller is somewhat scratched, the foiling is in very good condition. Under the foil this SL 350 wears the paint color "Iridiumsilber-Metallic". Due to the fact that this SL already comes from the second model update of the 230 series, the roadster has, among other things, at the front - similar to the CLS - individual headlights with a redesigned front apron. At the rear, new taillights were used in the course of the second model update, and it was also upgraded with a diffuser insert and redesigned tailpipes. However, the seller can completely rule out the possibility of an accident.

Exterior Rims/Brakes/Chassis:

Hankook tires are mounted on black 5-spoke alloy rims, which according to the seller should still have approx. 50-70% of their new condition. The same condition assessment attests the current owner of the brake system of this Mercedes-Benz Roadster (also 50-70%) and in the area of the chassis, according to him, no major defects can be listed. Four original Mercedes-Benz wheels with winter tires (with DOT 2008) are enclosed with the vehicle. However, according to the statements of the seller, they have not been used, since the SL has not been moved in winter during its holding period

Interior:

In the interior, only a slight revision took place in the course of the second model update of the R 230: A new three-spoke steering wheel and a modified instrument cluster, among other things, were now used. In this SL 350, a few light scuffs are visible in the area of the outer driver's seat cheek, but otherwise the black interior of the SL apparently still looks very good and well maintained. Modifications deviating from the original condition obviously cannot be listed in the interior. Equipment in this SL 350 includes the following features: Leather seats, power seat adjustment, memory seat, heated seats, Airscarf system, air conditioning, ABS, cruise control, multifunction leather steering wheel and display radio. All equipment options function perfectly and the folding hard top (Vario roof) can also be opened and closed without any problems.

Mileage:

Sporty round instruments provide information about the driving status in the SL - the digital speedometer shows a mileage of 96,050 kilometers. After consultation with the seller, the total mileage can be proven by the partially kept checkbook.

Engine:

316 hp is produced by the 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine of this Mercedes-Benz SL 350, which is housed in the front. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels by means of a 7-speed automatic transmission - called 7G-Tronic at Mercedes-Benz. Final service work was performed on this SL in May 2022.

Underbody:
