Produced in Germany between 1960 and 1964, the Ford Taunus P3, also known as the "bathtub Taunus", impressed with a bold design that was reminiscent of a bathtub and was the subject of both admiration and criticism. As Ford Germany's third post-war development, the model set new standards and became a real sales hit with 669,731 units produced. Its modern design language and solid workmanship made the P3 a popular choice in the middle class and secured it a firm place in automotive history.

Bei diesem edlen Oldtimer kann es Ihnen nur passieren das Günther Jauch die Preisfrage stellt: "Wer wird Besitzer des Ford 12m"?? LG Tom
Technik: Mit dem Taunus P3 verließ Ford die Trapezlinie des Vorgängermodells P2. Der Wagen hatte weder Heckflossen noch überbordenden Chromschmuck und wirkte wieder europäischer. Er sah nicht nur sachlicher aus, sondern war deutlich wirtschaftlicher und zweckmäßiger als sein Vorgänger: Die veränderte Karosserieform brachte einen um 20 % geringeren Kraftstoffverbrauch bei höheren Geschwindigkeiten mit sich sowie bessere Beschleunigungswerte und eine größere Höchstgeschwindigkeit. Die hochgezogene Windschutzscheibe war stark gewölbt. Die Oval-Scheinwerfer ergaben bei Abblendlicht eine deutlich bessere Lichtverteilung und -intensität. Durchgehende Längsträger machten die Ganzstahlkarosserie verwindungssteif. Wenig fortschrittlich war hingegen die beibehaltene 6-Volt-Bordspannung. Zur Verbesserung des Bedienkomforts war auch der erste Gang des P3 synchronisiert. Das Fahrwerk mit MacPherson-Federbeinen und Querlenkern an den einzeln aufgehängten Vorderrädern und einer Starrachse an Blattfedern hinten hatte Ford ohne wesentliche Änderungen vom P2 übernommen. Einen hab ich noch! Was heute bei Coupes aufwendig "easy entry" für die Fond-Passagiere beworben wird hatte der Ford bereits eine wesentlich simplere und effiziente Lösung parat; die Sitzlehne klappte leicht schräg in die vordere Position sodass man in dem freigegebenen Raum gut nach hinten einsteigen konnte!!
