Vehicle description

The Maserati Mistral is a real gem of Italian automotive engineering and was first introduced by the traditional brand from Modena in 1963. The technical foundations for the lively sports car were developed by the legendary Giulio Alfieri, and star designer Pietro Frua was responsible for the development of the body. The result of this cooperation is a true classic, which fascinates with its aerodynamics and luxurious interior and was produced in the Coupé and Cabriolet variants. Maserati did not introduce the type designation "Mistral" until 1966 and thus established a long tradition of naming its sportiest models after winches.

-In this auction, a top-maintained Maserati Mistral 4000 is offered, which was created in March 1969 as one of the last of a total of 830 coupés of the first generation. The first owner was a hotelier from Alassio on the Italian Riviera, about other owners is not known in the documentation of the vehicle. In 2012, the chic sports car came to Germany to a collector and has remained in their inventory ever since. A typical checkbook is not available, but the history of this Maserati Mistral is easy to understand. The documentation includes, among other things, the historical certificate of Maserati with all data, the factory order and the delivery note from 1969 as well as all test protocols. The offered Maserati Mistral with the vehicle ID 273559 is in good general condition, there are no indications of accidents or damage. The technology has been overhauled by specialists in the recent past and has passed the main inspection at tüv without defects. The timeless piece of jewelry is currently not registered, but would be ready to drive immediately and will be delivered with the original keys. Matching numbers are available, as well as the vehicle is certified for the assembly of H license plates.

The Maserati Mistral 4000 is painted in Grigio Newmarket Metallic. It is the original manufacturer's paint, which was extensively renewed before being sold to Germany. The body has no significant signs of use, and there are no signs of dents, dents or corrosion. Nothing has been changed in the external appearance, so that this classic car with its sheet steel-aluminum body presents itself as it did when it was delivered over 50 years ago.

The original Campagnolo magnesium rims are mounted on the vehicle, which correspond perfectly with the other exterior of the vehicle in the classic spoke design. At the moment, Pirelli P4000 tyres have been fitted, but they will be replaced by new wheels before they are sold. No modifications were made to the chassis, as well as no technical defects were found on the disc brakes, the chassis and the suspension.

In the time since its first registration, the sports coupé has driven 62,000 kilometers, as can be seen from the speedometer disc. It is not known whether this information can be traced on the basis of the history, the functionality of all instruments can be assumed at the present time.

The interior has been preserved in its original condition, the sophisticated character of the vehicle is further underlined by the luxurious red-brown leather armchairs. The interior presents itself in a well-preserved condition with only slight traces of use and is dominated by the center console with the elegant gear stick. The sports steering wheel underlines the dynamics of the lively coupé, which has numerous controls and a radio.

The Maserati Mistral 4000 is equipped with the six-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 4.0 litres, which has been used since 1966. The machine delivers 255 hp and accelerates the 1250 kg vehicle from 0 to 100km/h in just over 8 seconds. The petrol-powered sports coupé has a 5-speed gearbox and can reach a top speed of 245km/h. The seller cannot provide any information about the last service check, but the entire technology was recently overhauled to the value of 18,500 euros. Wear parts and the original injection system were replaced, so there should be no defects in the engine and the other technical components.

The underbody of the vehicle is in good condition, so no additional investment in the vehicle is necessary. With this Maserati Mistral 4000, the future owner acquires a lively coupé that fits perfectly on the road due to its short wheelbase and low air resistance and is very pleasant to drive thanks to the optimally adjusted transmission. As part of its presentation, the luxurious interior and the exceptionally good all-round visibility were praised, for the legendary racing driver Paul Frère, who tested the car at the time, the Maserati Mistral was the ideal fast touring car for two people.
