The Mercedes-Benz W140 S-Class was produced from 1991 to 1998 and was available in saloon and coupé variants. In 1993, all models were renamed "S", while the Coupé was listed as an independent "CL-Class" from 1996. A total of 432,732 vehicles were built before the successors W220 and C215 appeared in 1998.
