Vehicle description

From 1973 (start of the so-called 911 "G-Model" era), like the base 911, the sportier "S" also got the revised body with the more expansive bumpers. The 911 S (as well as the entry-level model) was optionally available as a coupé or as a Targa. Like all other vehicles in the series, the "S" also had the six-cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of 2.7 litres, which had debuted a year earlier in a particularly powerful variant in the 911 Carrera RS. However, the Bosch injection system elicits more horsepower from the engine of the 911 S than in the basic version and the top speed was slightly higher for the "S". Overall, the 911 S 2.7 G model remained in the model range for only 2 years.

Now in this auction there is the possibility to purchase a Porsche 911 S as a G-model from the year of construction 1976. Originally, this Zuffenhausen sports car with the chassis number was delivered 911721283 to the USA, how many holders the 911 has exactly, is not known to the current owner. According to the seller, however, the history of the Porsche can be traced approximately through documents. Matching numbers as well as 2 vehicle keys to the G-model are available, the TÜV has been newly completed and this 911 is already in possession of an H-approval. Also worth mentioning is an existing report on the car.

The paint finish of this 911 S is striking: The yellow paint is still in its first paint except for repainted body elements in the front area, according to the seller's statements. In view of the vehicle age of now 46 years, the body of this Elfer presents itself in a very good condition without serious defects. – In addition, there are no corrosion points to be found. Visually deviating from the original condition, only the stainless steel rear silencer of the company Dansk shows, otherwise no modifications to the exterior of this 911 are to be noted. The current owner excludes an accident with the Porsche in its holding period.

The tyres on the Porsche still have sufficient tread, but according to DOT they are from 2009.The tyres are mounted on original Porsche Fuchs rims, which are in acceptable condition. The current holder states the condition of the brakes as in order, according to this there are no serious defects on the chassis.

The interior of this 911 S G model continues in a colourful way: the seats adorn green/yellow/red bulkhead check covers next to the leather cheeks. On the partial leather seats, neither the seat cheeks are worn, nor is the seat upholstery defective. An Alcantara-covered and bowled 3-spoke sports steering wheel with yellow 12 o'clock marking provides sporty flair in the interior of this Porsche 911. With the exception of this modification, no deviation from the original condition can be taken from the interior of the vehicle – which is in very good condition without any apparent damage. The Targa roof can be opened easily and, according to the seller's statements, is preserved in a well-kept condition without cracks or other defects. As a radio, there is a Sony accessory radio in the dashboard, all instruments in the interior are said to function perfectly.

Due to the fact that the mileage speedometer can still be found in this 911 S, the mileage on the speedometer is in miles: 125,870 miles correspond to the equivalent of about 202,500 kilometers. There is no verifiable proof of the total mileage of this Porsche G model. However, it should be mentioned that the overall condition is extremely well preserved and one would not visually take the read mileage from this Porsche.

In the rear of the 911 works a 2.7-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, which provides a power output of 165 hp – shifting is via 5-speed center shift. In 2021, this G-model has been subjected to a final service, according to the seller, there are no current defects in the technology.

In view of the overall mileage of the car, a well-preserved and well-maintained condition can be taken from the underbody. If you want to celebrate the colourful 1970s and still appear in style with a classic sports car, this Porsche 911 S is a real opportunity for you.
