Vehicle description
The VW Corrado was intended as the third generation of the Scirocco, but it was marketed as a higher-priced standalone sports coupé. The Basis of the Corrado built by Karmann was the Golf 2, but the technology of the then most expensive Volkswagen should have something special in store. Dr. Ernst Fiala was the ingenious mind behind the rediscovery of the mechanical spiral loader. Volkswagen first introduced charging by means of a G-charger in the Polo G40, followed a year later by the Corrado G60, where the number denotes the diameter. The VW Corrado was produced in all its engine variants from 1988 to 1995 in a quantity of almost 100,000 units.
In this ongoing auction, a VW Corrado G60 from the year of construction 1990 can now be auctioned, which was registered for the first time in Germany and has a total of 7 holders to date. Although there is no longer a checkbook for the sports coupé, the mileage can be proven according to the seller's information on the basis of invoices – in addition, the so-called matching numbers are available. The Corrado sometimes does not have an H-approval, but the TÜV shows a validity until May 2023.
In terms of design, a Corrado was comparatively bold by Volkswagen standards, the Corrado promised visual dynamism and a beautiful silhouette. The VW offered here for auction wears a black paint color, which has already been repainted after consultation with the current holder in the lower area of both sides. As defects in the exterior, the seller indicates a minimally large dent in the door. On the front part of the vehicle, stone chips and paint chips can be seen. All plastic attachments convince by their well-kept condition, no parking bumps can be detected on the bumpers. An accident with this car is completely ruled out by the owner. The highlight of the body is definitely the rear spoiler, which extends automatically from 120 km/h and thus contributes to improving aerodynamics.
OZ Racing rims in multi-spoke design, together with tyres in decent condition, adorn the exterior appearance of the G60. A 15mm track widening and lowering springs from the brand H&R are installed. The seller attests to the brakes 70-90% of their new condition and in the area of chassis no deficits can be identified. In addition to the OZ rims, four original VW rims are also included.
The interior of the VW Corrado presents itself objectively: components from mass production and LCD displays provide the familiar ambience of the VW sports coupé. Cracks in the fabric can be detected in the driver's seat and rear seat. On the whole, the interior is in a well-kept state, the equipment of the Corrado includes, among other things, power steering, central locking, electric windows, ABS and a display accessory radio. All equipment elements have a problem-free function.
The 6-digit odometer shows a mileage of approx. 189,000: all instruments, displays and controls in the interior have an impeccable function.
The technology of this VW has been extensively restored: The work carried out includes the overhaul of the entire engine including the G-charger, as well as the injection nozzles have been revised. In addition, all rubber bearings, wishbones, brakes and the clutch were newly added. The Corrado's 1.8-litre in-line four-cylinder engine, which is supercharged by G-charger, delivers 160 hp, and power is transmitted directly to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. In May 2022, this G60 underwent a final service.
According to the seller, the underbody of this sports coupé is rust-free, unwelded and preserved. Problem-free large-scale production technology, good driving performance, a self-confident design and complete suitability for everyday use speak for a VW Corrado. The G-loader, as it is used in this sports coupé offered for auction, provides fascination. Due to the technical overhaul of this G60, the future owner will enjoy a sports coupé that is easy to drive, in which not only the characteristic G-loader whistling can be enjoyed.

Comments of this past auction
Lagerschalen, Kolbenringe, hohnen, planen, Kopf Ultraschall gereinigt, schaffdichtungen, Zahnriemen. Es gab keinen Defekt, sondern ich wollte ihn technisch komplett überholen und da gehört der Motor dazu.
Ganz herzlichen Dank
