Vehicle description
The Datsun Cherry is a model of the Japanese manufacturer Nissan and was the first model that was built at that time with front-wheel drive. In 1970, the Cherry was presented for the first time and bears the translation cherry in the name, which should refer to the Japanese cherry blossom festival. In 1982, the last generation with 3 and 5 doors was sold. This model was a hatchback.
In this auction, a Datsun Cherry from 1978 is now offered. The EZ is still in the same month as the FOJ happened – 07.1978 and has the FIN KLF10019694. Through reports and invoices, the history is traceable, so that the mileage can also be validated. The TÜV is still available until 12/23. Matching numbers are given according to the owner. The Cherry counts only one previous owner, this was an older gentleman who was a car locksmith. Originally, the vehicle comes from Japan. Two full key pairs are included. The H-approval is available, in addition, the Datsun is accident-free.
The Japanese painted in yellow is very solid overall and, according to the owner, has been repainted on the left side and the bonnet. The black décor, which actually runs around the car, gives the Cherry a sporty look, which suits the small car extremely well. The décor is extremely rare and is still in a good, age-appropriate condition. The Cherry is not a museum piece, so the lacquer has a few flaws, but they are more cosmetic in nature. For more details, please refer to the pictures. He needs a bit of love again, but is a very good substance.
The original steel rims with original hubcaps complete the general appearance of the Datsun Cherry very well. In addition, for the last time the JAWs were reoccupied at the rear for the TÜV, the drums were turned out, the bearings were renewed and a brake cylinder was resealed. The tires are still in about 50% condition.
In the interior, a mix of artificial leather and fabric can be found, which suits the Cherry very well. The original carpet is a bit worn, so that it could possibly be renewed. Otherwise, the interior is very tidy and also has the original radio.
On the speedometer there are only about 50,000km, which can be traced on the basis of the history.
The engine is not a powerhouse, but with the light body with its 1,200cc and 52 hp, it is completely sufficient to drive relaxed. The 4-speed transmission shifts without problems and there are no other defects in the technology, according to the owner. 12/21 a service with brake fluid change was made.
The underbody is unwelded and in an original condition. In addition, it should be emphasized that there is no repair backlog and the rear shock absorbers have been renewed.
Some papers and documents are available and complete the history of the vehicle. This Datsun Cherry is something for all those who are looking for a cheap, rare and unusual classic car, which can be used well as a daily driver and opens the door to the classic car world!
