Vehicle description
Model history:
With the Corvette C3, the American car manufacturer General Motors decided to enter a new design era. The third generation of the Corvette has grown greatly in dimensions compared to its predecessor, was produced in the so-called "Coke-Bottle Design" with plastic body from 1967 to 1982 and is considered with a production time of 15 years as the longest built Corvette generation - a total of almost 543,000 Corvette C3 were produced. The engines range from the 5.4-liter V8 base engine to a 7.4-liter unit, which has the largest displacement in Corvette history.
General information about the vehicle:
A Corvette C3 from 1979 can now be purchased in this auction. This American sports car is an import from the USA, which came to Germany in 2020. After consultation with the seller, these C3 had only 2 holders in possession and the so-called matching numbers are assumed. Unfortunately, the history of the Corvette can no longer be traced exactly, as there is no exact history of the car. Only recently, the last main inspection took place and the TÜV is now valid until November 2024 - this Corvette C3 is already in possession of an H-approval.
Exterior colour/varnish/body:
Externally, the American sports car, which has already been repainted in black, impresses with its honest and generally well-preserved condition: There are age-related injuries in the paint, but in view of the age of the vehicle, a good picture can be taken from the paint condition, according to the seller. As a defect, the seller indicates the difficult to close driver's door. All attachments on the car are completely preserved and an accident can be ruled out after consultation with the current owner.
Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:
The rims are original Corvette rims, on which Goodyear brand tires are mounted, which have a condition of 70-90%. Also 70-90% of the condition, the seller attests to the brakes of the C3 and in the area of the chassis no modifications deviating from the original condition are visible.
Interior:
The interior of this Corvette C3 is mostly colored red: The leather seats show hardly any signs of wear and the rest of the interior is apparently very well preserved. In addition to power windows, there is also a contemporary radio on board this Corvette. For a detailed overview of the interior and its features, we refer to the other photos and videos. The roof halves can be easily removed and reinserted and all other controls in the interior work.
Mileage
According to the seller, this Corvette C3 is said to have run 70,000 miles - due to the lack of history, the total mileage of the American sports car can not be traced exactly, but in view of the good basic substance of this C3, the mileage seems credible.
Engine
In the front sits the 5.7-liter V8 engine, which transmits an output of 194 hp via 3-speed automatic transmission called "Turbo Hydra-Matic" to the rear wheels. Most recently, this Corvette underwent service in February 2021.
Subsoil:
The current holder of this C3 describes the condition of the subfloor as preserved. Solid technology, stunning styling and iconic status ensure the popularity of a Corvette C3, among other things. According to the seller, no changes need to be made to this Corvette, which was imported from the USA in 2020, and no defects were found at the TÜV. A highlight of this Corvette C3 is definitely the T-top, where the roof halves can be easily removed and the American sports car can then be enjoyed openly.
