Vehicle description
Model history:
Jean Rédelé, the son of a French Renault dealer, first created a sporty car based on the legendary 4CV in the early 1950s, which immediately attracted the interest of the trade press. Rédelé was soon thinking about small series production and had no idea that the cars modified under his direction would soon become a permanent fixture on the sports car market under the Alpine brand name. The big breakthrough came with the debut of the Alpine A110 at the beginning of the 1960s: this car, which was just over 1,100 mm high, had an interestingly styled plastic body and was based on the technology of the Renault 8.
General information about the vehicle:
An Alpine A110 from the first registration in 1974 - of which there were only 18 in this model version offered here, according to the seller - can now be purchased in this auction. The French sports car comes from 2nd hand and ran in Austria, the so-called matching numbers are assumed. Although there is no longer a checkbook for the car, the current owner of the sports car states that the mileage is approximately traceable. This Alpine has a valid Austrian inspection until January 2024 and is not yet in possession of a historic registration.
Exterior color/paint/body:
In terms of paint, this Alpine shines in the motorsport color of the French - namely blue. The wide fenders are a striking feature of this A110, giving the sports car an even more powerful appearance. Additional Cibie headlights at the front not only give the car a more rally look, but also provide more illumination when driving at night. All add-on parts are obviously in good condition on the bodywork and all chrome parts on the car still shine as they should. After consultation with the owner, he was informed that this Alpine is free of repainting and accident-free and that no major damage to the exterior can be reported.
Exterior rims/brakes/suspension:
Together with Toyo brand tires - which, according to the DOT, are from 2019/2020 and were only recently fitted to the French sports car - 13-inch Gotti alloy wheels ensure the further visual appearance of the vehicle. The seller attests the brakes a condition rating of 70-90% and, according to him, there are no inconsistencies in the chassis.
Interior:
Rallye purity can be felt in the interior of the Alpine with bucket seats, H-belts and a silver roll bar: the Alcantara-covered dashboard and the interior carpet with rhombus pattern and blue decorative stitching are sporty and luxurious. The perforated 3-spoke Alcantara steering wheel, which has a blue 12 o'clock marker, is extremely grippy. The equipment on board the Alpine A110 includes a retro radio. According to the seller, there are no major signs of wear in the interior. To convince yourself of the many details, the equipment features and the general condition of the interior of the Alpine, we recommend looking through the meaningful series of pictures of this vehicle.
Mileage:
Green numbers and pointers can be seen in the Alpine's round instruments: The 5-digit speedometer shows a mileage of approx. 79,997 kilometers. All instruments work perfectly and the total mileage of the car can be partially traced according to the seller.
Engine:
According to the seller, the water-cooled in-line four-cylinder engine in the rear of this A110, which comes from Renault, delivers 97 hp. The power of the 4 cylinders is transmitted to the rear axle via a manual gearbox. The last service was carried out in August 2022 after consultation.
Underbody:
In terms of condition, the underbody of this A110 can be described as very good - there are apparently no major inconsistencies or rust spots. Flat, fast, agile, light: These 4 characteristics probably describe an Alpine A110 most succinctly. According to the seller, this French sports car offered here is a vehicle in which everything is type-approved - the seller also states that there were only 18 of this Alpine model and that the vehicle is a corresponding rarity.
