Vehicle description
Jean Rédelé, the son of a French Renault dealer, first created a sporty car in the early 50s on the basis of the legendary 4CV, which immediately attracted the interest of the trade press. Rédelé soon thought about small series production and had no idea that the automobiles modified under his direction with the brand name Alpine would soon become a permanent fixture on the sports car market. With the debut of the Alpine A110 at the beginning of the 60s came the very big breakthrough: This car, which was only just over 1,100 mm high, received an interestingly styled plastic body and was based on the technology of the Renault 8. Thanks to intensive facelift, the power grew to 140 hp in the course of the construction period of the A110 until 1977 – that was enough for a top speed of 215 km/h.
A Renault Alpine A110 from 1971 is offered for auction in this auction. This A110 with chassis number MD493FL was first registered in Austria in July 1984. Only 2 owners count the Alpine, the mileage of the A110 can be partially traced by documents according to the seller. Matching numbers are given, in addition, there is still 1 vehicle key to the car and in possession of an H-approval this Alpine is already. The last completed general inspection is valid until June 2023. Also worth mentioning is an existing valuation report on this A110.
On the central tube frame sits a body made of plastic – this apparently has no damage in this Alpine A110 model, according to the seller only minor cracks in the paint can be found. In terms of paint, this car bears the racing colour of France: blue. The current owner mentions that in 1983 the paint was renewed at a Renault dealer. Modifications deviating from the original condition are not to be discovered on the exterior of this Alpine, in addition, the A110 is currently in an accident-free condition. All chrome trim on the car impresses with its shiny condition. The car has a heatable windscreen
Vredestein tires from 2018 are mounted on 13-inch Goti rims in good condition. The tyres of the car are 12 times. The seller states the condition of the brakes as good, in the area of the chassis no deficits can be found.
The Interior of the Alpine makes no secret of its sporty ambitions: bucket seats with H-belts and a steep steering wheel alone provide motorsport flair. A Matter roll bar serves as protection, fire extinguishers on board provide further safety measures in the event of an emergency. Although a few traces of use can be removed from the interior of the A110, there is no damage or missing parts. Everything you need to drive is on board this Renault Alpine – which means that superfluous equipment features do not even exist, because the A110 requires full concentration from its driver.
A chrome-mounted dashboard armada with green indicators can be seen in the driver's cockpit: the 5-digit speedometer has a mileage of 86,500. According to the current owner, the total mileage of the Alpine can be approximated by various invoices and former TÜV reports. All instruments in the interior can be attributed a flawless function.
In principle, Alpine has always used robust large-scale production technology for its technology: a 1.6-litre in-line four-cylinder engine is installed in the rear, while a 4-speed manual transmission brings the engine's power to the road via the rear wheels. In 2021, a final service took place, defects in the technology are not known to the seller.
The subfloor is in good condition. An Alpine A110 offers a fantastic look as well as an incomparable rally feeling as soon as you have found space in the flat flounder. In addition, the A110 laid the foundation for an Alpine success story that continues to this day, which has so far reached its peak with the new A110 produced since 2017. Although this French rally legend offered here has a few traces of use, the A110 is already over 50 years old and offers not only motorsport fans, but also collectors and lovers of rare automotive legends an opportunity due to the low production number of this model.
