Model history
The Harley-Davidson Sportster is a traditional motorcycle series that has been on the market since 1957 and has become a classic in the US manufacturer's range. The Sportster models can be recognized by their product code "XL" and go back to the K Sport and Sport Solo models introduced in the early 1950s. These predecessors, built from 1952 to 1956 and equipped with side-valve flathead engines, were offered in the K, KK, KH and KHK variants. With the launch of the first Sportster in 1957, Harley-Davidson then introduced the more modern engine with overhead valves. The new model adopted many of the characteristic features of the KH, such as the frame, the mudguards, the large tank and the front wheel suspension.

Questions and Comments
LG Tom
