Vehicle description

Model history:

The Mini is an iconic car first built in 1959 by the British Motor Corporation (BMC). The original model, with its revolutionary design, offered space for four people in a small space. The Rover Mini is a variant of the Mini produced from 1986 to 2000. After the acquisition of Rover by British Aerospace, the Mini was sold under the name Rover. The Rover Mini was essentially the same as the original Mini, but with some modifications to make it more modern. These included improved suspension, a new dashboard and a new cooling system. The Rover Mini was available in several variants, including the Cooper and John Cooper Works versions. In 2000, BMW, then owner of Rover, discontinued production of the Rover Mini.

General information about the vehicle:

In this auction one of the last classic Mini Coopers from the year of construction 1999 can be purchased. The small car with the chassis number SAXXNNAZRXD165749 has only run 24,066 kilometers and was mainly in the hands of collectors. In 1999 it was delivered in Florence to a collector who, according to the checkbook, drove only 5598 km with the Mini until 2005. It was finally exported to Germany in 2008 and has been in the seller's collection since 2020. The Mini comes with a complete checkbook, so that the mileage can be traced. According to the seller, the car is accident-free and matching numbers are also given.

Exterior colour/varnish/body:

The body of the Mini is painted in a classic green. According to the seller, both sides have already been repainted due to scratches in the doors. The exterior mirror housings and the roof are painted in white, as well as white stripes on the bonnet ensure a sporty appearance. Four rally-style auxiliary headlights are also mounted at the front.

Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

New Hankook tyres in size 145/70R12 are mounted on the 12-inch alloy rims. Curb damage or other damage to the rims is not visible. The seller also describes the condition of the brakes as new.

Interior:

The interior of the Mini is rather minimalist and is in good condition according to the mileage. The dashboard is clad in wood décor and accommodates, among other things, three additional instruments for oil temperature, time and a voltmeter. The two-tone leather steering wheel is already equipped with an airbag.

Mileage

The five-digit odometer in the speedometer of the Mini shows only 24,066 kilometers. This mileage can be traced on the basis of the complete checkbook.

Engine:

A special feature of the mini engines is that the transmission housing also serves as an engine oil pan and the transmission thus shares the oil with the engine. This design saved valuable installation space. The built-in 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 62 hp. The last service was carried out in December 2022.

Subsoil:

According to the seller, flash rust is easier to find on the underbody, which has not been welded so far.

Who is this car for?

The Mini is a car for people who appreciate the charm and flair of a classic British car and want to enjoy the driving experience of a small, manoeuvrable car. This vehicle is particularly interesting for collectors due to its low mileage and exceptional condition.
