Model history
When Porsche launched the 993 model series in 1997, an outcry of indignation went through the ranks of the so-called "cast-iron", for whom blower cooling and round headlights were always paramount in the 911. But with the new 911, four-valve technology with two overhead camshafts was used for the first time. And water cooling was understandable from a technical point of view, as this technology allowed the performance range to be further expanded. The new model offered a choice of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, Coupé, Targa or Cabriolet.

Summary
The new 911 presented in 1997 initially triggered an outcry from traditionalists, but of course we have long known better, because Porsche had no other choice: neither the stricter emissions regulations nor the demands for further increases in engine power could be met with an air-cooled engine. In this Porsche 996 Carrera Coupé from 2000, the excellent color combination of exterior and interior catches the eye, as well as the generally well-kept condition and full service history.

Technik: Hier steht ein Abkömmling des Ur-911 in einem blitzsauberen farblich stimmigen und in einem einwandfreien Zustand zum Kauf! Der Motorblock ist wesentlich komplizierter aufgebaut als die luftgekühlten Motoren, die aus zwei Hälften mit zwei Steuerketten bestehen. Die neuen Motoren bestehen aus vier Teilen; die vier Nockenwellen werden von zusammen fünf Ketten angetrieben: Eine Duplex-Rollenkette treibt eine unter der Kurbelwelle liegende Zwischenwelle an. Von dieser Zwischenwelle aus führt je eine Duplex-Rollenkette an der Vorder- und Rückseite des Motors zu den Auslassnockenwellen. Diese treiben über eine Simplex-Rollenkette die zugehörige Einlassnockenwelle an, die mit einer Nockenwellenverstellung (Vario Cam) arbeitet. Ab Modelljahr 2002 (3,6 Liter-Motor) mit Ventilhubschaltung (VarioCam Plus). Zur Markteinführung hatte der Porsche 996 einen Motor mit einem Hubraum von 3387 cm³ (3,4 Liter), der bei einer Drehzahl von 6800/min eine Leistung von 221 kW (300 PS) erzeugt. Damit erreichte der Motor ohne Turbolader die Leistung der 911 Turbo-Modelle von 1978. Ab dem Modelljahr 2002 wurde der Hubraum auf 3596 cm³ (3,6 Liter) erhöht, was bei gleicher Drehzahl zu einem Leistungszuwachs auf 235 kW (320 PS) führte. LG Tom
