The Wartburg 353 W was a remarkable automobile produced by VEB Automobilwerk Eisenach in East Germany from 1966 to 1989. It was offered in several engine variants, including a 3-cylinder two-stroke engine with a displacement of 992 cc, which developed a power of 45 hp. Later, an improved version was introduced with a 4-cylinder four-stroke engine, which had a capacity of 1.3 liters and a power of 58 hp. Despite its modesty, the Wartburg 353 W won many supporters due to its reliability and economy. During its production period, over 1 million vehicles were manufactured, and it remained a symbol of GDR automotive history.
