Vehicle description

Model history:

In 1973, the second series of the Jaguar XJ was presented at the IAA in Frankfurt and then went into production in 1975. The XJ was available as both a sedan and a coupe. There were several engine options to choose from, including 2.8-liter and 4.2-liter gasoline engines with outputs ranging from 142 to 172 horsepower, as well as a 5.4-liter V12 gasoline engine with 287 horsepower. A particular challenge, as well as a stylish innovation, was the frameless side windows that enhanced the car's appearance. After selling about 6,400 vehicles, Jaguar ceased production of the XJ6 4.2 C in 1979. Nevertheless, due to its timeless design and performance, the XJ remains one of the classics to this day.

General information about the vehicle:

You will soon have the opportunity to maneuver a Jaguar XJ6C 4.2 S2 over the roads in the following auction. The Jaguar with the VIN 2J53792BW was first registered in 1978. A total of three previous owners are recorded in the history of the Jaguar. The current owner has owned the Jaguar for more than 20 years. According to the information available to us, the matching numbers confirm the originality of the vehicle. In addition, the car has a valid TÜV inspection, a German registration and is ready to drive. The classic car status is officially confirmed by the existing H license plate. An existing valuation report with a grade of 2 attests to the overall good condition of the vehicle.

Exterior Color/Paint/Body:

The elegant white paint of the Jaguar in combination with the black vinyl roof skillfully emphasizes the exclusive lines. The owner states that the car has been completely repainted during a restoration, but has slight paint damage. Apart from that, the Jaguar is in good condition for its age. The chrome elements have not forgotten their shine and the headlights also grant good illumination. In addition, no external modifications are visible, and the current owner assures that the car is in original condition.

Exterior Rims/Brakes/Chassis:

The black alloy wheels with chrome hubcaps mounted on this Jaguar skillfully complement the exclusive overall appearance of the vehicle

.

They give it a sporty yet elegant touch. On the rims there are tires of the renowned Pirelli brand, which are in good condition. The owner estimates the condition of the tires at 70 to 90 percent. The braking system of the Jaguar also enjoys a reliable condition. The keeper also estimates the brakes' used condition at 70 to 90 percent.

Interior:

Upon entering the interior of this Jaguar, it quickly becomes clear why the brand is one of the epitomes of elegance. The black leather interior, which is in age-appropriate condition, adds a luxurious touch to the interior. It harmonizes perfectly with the real wood dashboard. The classic two-spoke steering wheel and black center console round out the high-quality interior. Other features include power steering, power windows, air conditioning and a radio. These amenities make for a pleasant driving experience and contribute to the overall comfort of the vehicle.

Normal signs of use may be present in the interior, but these are consistent with the age and use of the vehicle

.

To get an even better impression of the condition of the interior, we recommend that you take a look at the professional pictures, which offer further insight.

Mileage:

The Jaguar offered here has been driven a total of 119,883 Km over the asphalt

.

There is no checkbook available, but the owner certifies that the mileage is traceable. In addition, he attests - with the exception of the non-functioning air conditioning system - that the instruments, controls and displays in the interior function without any problems.

Engine:

The heartbeat of this Jaguar is driven by a powerful 6-cylinder engine with a displacement of 4.2 liters. With an impressive 169 horsepower, it gives the vehicle a commanding performance. The interplay of displacement and cylinders ensures harmonious power delivery and allows the Jaguar to glide over the roads with impressive dynamism. Power is transmitted via a smooth automatic transmission that optimally transfers the engine's power to the road. The Jaguar was last serviced in May 2023, so you can expect an up-to-date service record. The owner assures that there are no known defects or damage to the engine.

Underbody:

The underside of the British sports car is in decent condition, as can be seen in the pictures

.

There are slight signs of flash rust, but this does not affect the stability or safety of the car in any way. In order to keep the underbody in good condition in the future, it has been carefully preserved.

However, when considering the overall condition of the Jaguar, these are the only comments that need to be made. All other aspects of the car, from the bodywork to the interior, are in decent condition - as attested by the Valuation Report's grade of 2 - and provide a first-class driving experience. Collectors, enthusiasts and classic car enthusiasts have a nice opportunity here to win another treasure for themselves.

Comments of this past auction
