Vehicle description

Introduced in 1959, the Mini earned its creator Alec Issigonis not only the reputation of having invented the compact small car of modern times, but also the title of nobility. A total of 7 series of the Mini were built by the end of production in 2000. The last series, called MK VII, was equipped with Multi Point Injection (MPi), driver airbag, belt tensioners, front radiators and a more luxurious interior, among other things. From 1996, this series was offered until the year 2000. The classic Mini was produced over an incredible four decades in a quantity of almost 5.4 million units before it was replaced in 2001 by the Mini developed under BMW aegis.

A Rover Mini Cooper from the year of construction 2000 can now be bought in this auction. This import vehicle with the FIN SAXXNWAZRYD178845 has a total of only 2 owners, a history is available due to the partially kept checkbook. According to the seller, this Mini was partially restored on behalf of the first owner in 2008 by a Rover/Jaguar representative. The work was extensively captured with photos, so that a picture documentation is available. The TÜV runs until August 2024. According to the owner, the so-called matching numbers are given.

Externally, the Cooper, which is completely repainted in British Racing Green Metallic except for the rear area, offers good condition. Wheel arch adjustments all around make it look beefy. In terms of paint, the Mini is also in good shape, inconsistencies in the color depth are not discernible. A few scratches on the exterior as well as rust spots on the sill are present, but these are recorded in detail in the picture gallery. 4 auxiliary headlights mounted in front of the chrome grille ensure that you have enough visibility even at night. Various strips and trim parts are kept in chrome and still shine as they should. The current owner notes that the Mini was driven accident-free during its holding period.

The Mini has tyres with tyres in good condition in the dimension 175/50, the tyres are mounted on 13 inch Minilite rims, which are in acceptable condition. In terms of brakes, a TÜV-compliant good condition can be recorded – the seller indicates the condition with 50-70% of the new condition.

Richly luxurious in view of the size of the vehicle, the interior presents itself with its original beige full leather seats with black contrasting piping. On the full leather seats, the driver's seat is recognizable by the age resulting patina, on the passenger seat the seat cover was new. The wooden dashboard is somewhat patinated and the beige gear knob shows signs of wear. A three-spoke leather steering wheel with airbag and a Sony CD radio are to be listed as equipment features. The proper functioning of all instruments and controls is given.

The five-digit speedometer shows a read mileage of 18,160 kilometers, the total mileage is 118,160 kilometers according to the seller – this is confirmed by a partially guided checkbook.

This Mini Cooper is powered by a 1.3-litre in-line four-cylinder engine, which releases 63 hp to the front wheels – shifted via a 4-speed manual transmission. In June 2021, a last service took place, except for a weak battery, according to the seller statements, no defects can be listed. In 2013 (at about 95,000 kilometers), the transmission was overhauled and a reinforced clutch was installed.

Welded and then preserved, the underbody condition of this Mini Cooper presents itself. The seller also notes that there is a wheelset with good winter tires for the Mini and the car has a KAT and belongs to the emission class Euro 2. Even in its late version, the Mini has lost none of its original characteristics. This Mini Cooper offered here impresses with its impeccable technology, the cult color British Racing Green Metallic and the verifiable mileage: Perfect as a city runabout or suitable for classic car rallies.
