Model history
The first generation Dodge Viper SR1 R/T10 was produced from 1992 to 1995 and was an iconic American sports car that thrilled with its brute performance and striking design. Powered by an 8.0-liter V10 engine with over 400 hp, the Viper set new standards in the super sports car class. It was developed under the direction of Chrysler engineer Roy Sjoberg and made its debut as a concept car at the North American International Auto Show in 1991. Production began in 1992 and it was characterized by its purist design without exterior door handles and windows. The Viper was a true driver's car that emphasized performance over comfort. It quickly became a legend and laid the foundations for several successive generations.
