Vehicle description
Model history:
At the Turin Motor Show in 1970, a small Lamborghini with the designation P 250 was shown. With him it was planned to go against the already at the end of 1966 sold under the brand Dino small Ferrari in the field. While he was content with a V6 engine, the P 250 – he only got the type designation Urraco later – was to receive a 220 hp V8. As in the P 400 Miura, the engine was installed transversely in front of the rear axle. Gearbox, clutch and differential formed a unit. The suspension included front and rear suspension struts with wishbones. It was not until 1973 that the Urraco went into series production, in 1974 a 3.0-liter variant (called Urraco P300) and the P 200 (with 2.0-liter V8) appeared. In total, just under 700 Lamborghini Urraco were produced.
General information about the vehicle:
A Lamborghini Urraco P 250 S with revised engine and gearbox from 1977 will be put up for auction in this auction. The first delivery of this vehicle was to Spain, more precisely to Madrid. Over the years, the car was finally imported to Germany, where the Urraco was spent in a collection. The seller of this Urraco mentions that there is a history of the vehicle and the mileage of this P 250 is authentic. TÜV, AU, as well as an H license plate are still done before the handover to the future owner.
Exterior colour/varnish/body:
In the unrestored original condition, the silver-gray metallic body of this Lamborghini Urraco can be found - only once, according to the sellers, a repainting was carried out and this now has a little patina. The body, designed by the design studio Bertone, has a highly glazed body including eye-catching vents above the rear axle, which continue in wide louvres above the rear window and which significantly influence the appearance of the Urraco. At the front of the car there are Hella auxiliary headlights, which were fitted to this vehicle ex works.
Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:
Campagnolo aluminium rims, on which tyres from the manufacturer Vredestein are mounted, provide the further visual appearance. After consultation with the current owner, no inconsistencies can be mentioned on the brakes, as these (as well as the tires) came only recently new. According to him, there are also no defects in the area of the chassis.
Interior:
The interior of the Urraco P250 S is striking and designed in fashionable colours: The partial leather seats in black/medium blue, like the entire interior, are still completely original and can be found in a very nice condition, according to the seller. The following features are located in the Lamborghini Urraco: air conditioning, color glazing all around, 2 exterior mirrors, electric windows. All equipment elements go about their service without any problems. For a detailed overview of the interior, we refer to the other photos.
Mileage
90,940 kilometers can be read from the speedometer of the Lamborghini Urraco in the Jaeger round instrument: Based on various existing invoices, this mileage can be approximately proven, according to the seller. Furthermore, the operating instructions and the tool set for the vehicle are still available.
Engine
The V8 mid-engine of this Lamborghini Urraco P 250 S delivers 223 hp, via 5-speed manual transmission, the power of the 8 cylinders is brought to the road via the rear wheels. Engine and gearbox were overhauled by a specialist workshop, the clutch came new. An Ansa sports exhaust ensures a good soundscape of the V8 engine.
Subsoil:
On the underside of the car, according to the seller, there are no complaints to make, which could cloud the good overall impression of the Lamborghini. V8 mid-engine, a characterful design and the pure 70s sports car charm of this Lamborghini makes hearts beat faster. The marginal number of units of this model and the good overall condition of this Urraco P 250 S on offer here, including the comprehensible history of the sports car, speak for themselves. In addition to the car, the seller gives various classic magazines, in which exactly this Urraco has been depicted and described.
