- From 1963, the Mercedes-Benz W113 shaped the image of the sporty roadsters. As the successor to the 190 SL, the W113, also known as the Pagoda, was offered with various engine variants. It started with the 230 SL, equipped with a six-cylinder engine and 150 hp. Later came the 250 SL and the 280 SL, with larger displacements and more power. By 1971, a total of around 48,900 Pagodas had been produced.
