Vehicle description

Model history:

After the completed model change of the 911 from the SC to the Carrera, there was now a noticeable gap between the 231-hp Carrera and the 163-hp 944 at Porsche. Filling this was to be the task of the 944 Turbo, which was presented at the IAA in 1985. Similar to the 924 Turbo, the engineers planted a turbocharger on the four-cylinder engine. But unlike the 924 Turbo, the Swabians gave the 944 Turbo an intercooler. It provided better economy, greater reliability and, above all, more power: 220 hp were available for the 944 Turbo. Visually, the Turbo appeared with a redesigned, smoothed bow bartie compared to the normal 944.

General information about the vehicle:

This Porsche 944 Turbo from first registration in 1988, which is released for auction here, bears the VIN WP0ZZZ95ZJN150797 and represents an import which, according to the seller, should have a total of 2 owners and which is based on the matching numbers. Although there is no longer a checkbook for this Porsche, the total mileage is almost verifiable according to the current owner on the basis of various documents. In addition to H-approval, the transaxle sports car already has TÜV until February 2025.

Exterior paint/paint/body:

The body of this Porsche 944 Turbo, which was first registered in 1988, is kept in a gold hue - the front and side areas were already repainted after consultation with the seller. According to the seller, there are no major inconsistencies on the exterior and this 944 is said to look good for its age of almost 35 years. In the area of add-on parts, no missing parts can be complained about and, on top of that, the body presents itself in a condition that does not deviate anywhere from its originality.

Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

Compared to the normal 944, the Turbo has, among other things, a sports suspension and larger disc brakes. The seller certifies that the brakes have a condition of 50-70% - he also gives the same assessment to the tires of the Fulda brand. Silver-painted Porsche alloy wheels in the "telephone dial" design provide the extended visual appearance of this 944 Turbo.

Interior:

The electrically adjustable seats, which are classic in black, are completely leather-covered - the four-spoke leather steering wheel with airbag and the manual gear knob are also covered in leather. Almost the entire interior can be found in black, and the equipment of this 944 Turbo includes: central locking, power steering, power windows, air conditioning, sunroof (removable) and an LG CD radio. The driver's seat bolster is a bit worn - on the whole, according to the seller, there are no serious defects in the interior. All instruments, displays and controls are working correctly. The exact condition can be found in the many meaningful pictures of the turbo.

Mileage:

Four round instruments inform the driver about all the important details about the vehicle: A mileage of 106,470 kilometers can be read on the speedometer - according to the seller, the total mileage must be proven on the basis of various existing documents and receipts.

Engine:

220 hp provide propulsion in this 944 Turbo - the water-cooled in-line four-cylinder engine, which is turbocharged via turbo, is coupled to a manual 5-speed gearbox. At KM booth 102,000, final service work took place.

Subsoil:

According to the seller, slight flash rust can be seen on the underbody of this Porsche. Especially for fans of the 1980s, a 944 is a cult object due to its angular shape and characteristic pop-up headlights - a 944 Turbo also provides the classic turbo punch. An extensive equipment, the subtle color scheme and the all-round solid condition characterize this Porsche 944 Turbo offered here from first registration in 1988.
