Vehicle description

Model history:

As the successor to the Opel Commodore A, the Commodore B was produced from 1971 - the Commodore B differed from the record by a six-cylinder engine and better equipment. In addition to the basic models, Opel offered the sporty model versions GS and GS / E, which stood out from the "normal" Commodore versions due to sporty trim and some visual changes and above all by the more powerful engines. Of the body variants, there was the Commodore B in addition to a four-door sedan and as a two-door coupe - until 1977 Opel produced almost 141,000 vehicles of the series.

General information about the vehicle:

In this auction, an Opel Commodore B GS/E from first registration in 1976 is now offered for auction. According to the seller, this model with the chassis number 1361145216 is a South of France import, which comes from 1st hand and has its matching numbers completely. In addition to a valid technical inspection, which runs until April 2023, this coupé already has an H approval. Although there is no more checkbook for the car, the history of this Commodore B GS / E can be traced approximately. A valuation report from Classic Data from 2021 certified this partially restored coupé a replacement value of € 15,000 with an overall condition score of 3+.

Exterior colour/varnish/body:

Over the years, a repainting of the paint dress of this Opel took place - although the seller states that the paint is in an imperfect condition, but the paint color represents the original color and is on the whole in order. Freedom from accidents is confirmed by the seller. In addition to the apparently good condition of all attachments, no inconsistencies on the exterior can be removed, which could contradict the original condition. Likewise, the black vinyl roof of this coupé presents itself in acceptable condition. The exact condition of the body and the attachments can be found in the further photos.

Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

Michelin tyres are mounted on silver BBS multi-spoke rims: The tyres have a condition of 50-70% after consultation with the current owner. Also at 50-70% is the condition assessment of the seller regarding the brake system and irregularities in the area of the chassis are obviously not to be mentioned.

Interior:

In view of the now over 45 years old age of the vehicle, a well-preserved, original condition can be taken from the interior. In addition to beige fabric seats, there is a 4-spoke leather steering wheel in black in the interior of the Commodore B GS / E. Equipment elements include power steering and headlight washer system. For a detailed overview of the various features, we recommend reviewing the photos of this Opel Coupé. Obviously, all displays, instruments and controls in the interior of the Commodore B are fully functional.

Mileage:

6 round instruments are located in the instrument cluster - the 5-digit speedometer, which is integrated in the speedometer, shows a mileage of 51,340 kilometers. The seller mentions that the GS/E has reeled off a total of 151,340 kilometers and this mileage is partially verifiable.

Engine:

This Commodore B GS/E is powered by a 2.8-liter in-line six-cylinder engine, which transmits 160 hp to the rear axle via a manual 4-speed transmission. In May 2018, final service work on the car took place.

Subsoil:

Rustproof and unwelded, the seller describes the underbody condition of this Opel. The 2.8 GS/E was the top model of the Commodore B series and provided with a top speed of 200 km / h (the coupe) for decent performance. The Commodore B GS/E from France convinces with its all-round healthy condition, the classic color scheme and the fact that the coupé comes from 1st hand.
