Vehicle description

Introduction

As the successor to the Fiat Toppolino, the Turin-based automaker Fiat introduced the Fiat 500 model in 1957. It was produced as a cheap and small car for the masses. The unique design quickly caused a sensation and even won an award in 1959. The small car was produced exclusively as a two-door model with a sunroof. By 1975, almost 4,000,000 pieces had been produced. The growing fan base and lovers of the Fiat quickly turned the small, characterful car into a classic.

General information about the vehicle

Now a Fiat 500 L from 1972 is for sale in this auction. The small car with the VIN 31400000 was independently imported from Italy to Germany 10 years ago and then professionally restored. In its history, the Fiat 500 has only two owners. An H license plate confirms the small car's classic car status. In addition, the Fiat has a German registration, MOT until May 2024 and is in running condition. The Fiat is attributed an accident-free condition by the owner.

Characteristics

  • Exterior & Interior: The Fiat 500 presents itself in a blue and white paint with a black folding roof. It should be mentioned that in the course of the restoration the car was professionally completely repainted. This is also in a correspondingly good condition. The interior features a black leatherette interior along with a timeless dashboard and minimalist design.
  • Engine and transmission: A red-painted, 18 hp 0.5-liter engine, which is housed in the trunk, powers the classic car. The 18 hp are transferred to the axles of the Fiat by means of a manual transmission. The engine, according to the owner, has been overhauled. In June 2022, the last service was made.
  • Mileage: The retro speedometer shows 25,183 kilometers of mileage. According to the current owner, this value is also comprehensible, although there is no checkbook.
  • Documentation: According to the information available to us, in addition to the vehicle registration document and registration certificate, the current TÜV report is also available for documentation.

Highlights

  • An absolute peculiarity is the condition of the car. Since the restoration, the car has been in good shape, both visually and technically. In addition, there is a popular H license plate and the mileage is only 25,000 km. The owner also says the car is in great condition.

Condition

  • The brake system is described as reliable and estimated to be in 70 to 90% working condition
  • The mounted tyres have a good tread depth, and the tread pattern is also said to have a condition of 70 to 90%
  • The underbody is in a rust-free and unwelded condition. This was preserved and cavity sealed
  • The bodywork is described by the owner as rust-free
  • At this point, for a further impression, we recommend that you look through the attached series of pictures

Summary

  • The legendary Fiat 500 L from 1972 is in great shape. The owner has always treated it with care and had it professionally restored 10 years ago. An 18 hp engine allows the car to glide over the streets without any problems and the design with a great paint job makes the classic car an eye-catcher.
