Vehicle description
Model history:
For many, it was regarded as a kind of "French Porsche": the Renault Alpine A110. The plastic-bodied model - conceived by Alpine founder Jean Rédélé, a former Renault dealer - was built in the early 1960s with the help of Renault. In the early 1970s, Renault took a majority stake in Alpine and turned it into its "Renault Sport" motorsport division. The A110, which had between 48 hp and 140 hp depending on the engine, was already an exotic model in the sports coupé business. Highlights in the motor sport career of the A110 were the profits of the international mark championship 1971 and the first Rallye world championship 1973. After approx. 7,500 copies the production of the Alpine A110 ended 1977.
General to the vehicle:
With the Alpine A110 1300 offered in this auction to the auction, which comes from first registration 1974, it concerns one with the R5 Alpine engine and from Schaefer Tuning optimized equipped Alpine. In addition to the present history, 2 value certificates are also available (from August 2018 as well as from September 2021): Both appraisals attested the Alpine A110 the grade 2. The most recent Classic-Data appraisal from September 2021 also attested the A110 a market value of €78,000 and a replacement value of €89,300. Only recently, the seller had the MOT done - the next HU is due again in February 2025.
Exterior color/paint/bodywork:
Over the years, the Alpine A110 has already received a complete paint job: the seller mentions that the car has been repainted from its predecessor in green (former color of the Alpine was yellow) and decorated with rally stickers. The foil stickers on the exterior would be easy to remove, according to the seller. If the shape of the Alpine A110 already causes a stir out of the box, additional headlights were mounted at the front to further emphasize the motorsport look of the car. In the last value appraisal it is noted that the wheel arches of the vehicle are modified and the trim strips of the front and rear window are missing. Otherwise, all add-on parts on the A110 are present and in good shape. For more details, please check out the other photos and videos.
Exterior Rims/Brakes/Suspension:
Tires with apparent sufficient tread show up mounted on high gloss GT rims, a KW coilover suspension provides better handling for the Alpine. The seller is not aware of any inconsistencies in the braking system.
Interior:
The Alpine A110's interior continues with sportiness: In addition to a roll bar, the 3-spoke leather steering wheel, among other things, provides pure rally feeling. New came the driver as well as the front passenger seat in leather, which were equipped with 4-point seat belts. Inconsistencies such as gross damage or even missing parts in the interior can apparently not be made out and according to statements of the seller, the condition of the interior of this Alpine A110 is in good shape. One of the features on board the A110 is a radio. To get a detailed idea of the condition and equipment options in the interior of the Alpine, we recommend you to look through the meaningful series of pictures.
Mileage:
Green digits can be read on black dials: 81,807 kilometers can be seen on the 5-digit speedometer of this A110. The seller states that many detailed invoices and receipts are available for the Alpine and thus the history can be partially traced.
Engine:
Placed in the rear shows the R5 Alpine engine with 1,550 cc mounted in this A110, which provides a power of about 145 hp and was optimized by the company Schaefer Tuning. Cylinder head and intake tract were completely reworked, forged pistons and steel liners were used as well as a rally camshaft. Detailed invoices for this with a total of about 7,400 € are available. The seller also mentions that all modifications are registered. A 4-speed manual gearbox transmits the power to the road via the rear axle.
Underbody:
On the underbody side, the Alpine A110 has a healthy substance and after consultation with the seller, no inconsistencies can be found here that would impair the good overall impression of the vehicle
.
The radical design, the sporting achievements as well as the challenging handling of the Alpine A110 make this "French Porsche" appealing. Through the various modifications that the Alpine A110 offered here underwent, it was improved in many details and thoroughly optimized: Definitely an eye-catcher at any classic car rally, which on top of that is plenty of fun to drive.
