Vehicle description
In 1965, Burkard Bovensiepen began classic tuning under the name Alpina office machines: carburetor system, spoiler, chassis parts for the BMW 02 models and the BMW 5 Series built from 1972 onwards. Alpina became a manufacturer and courageous pioneer in technology in 1978 with the legendary B7 Turbo models and the B6 2.8. Also on the basis of the second series of the five, the E28, a B10 3.5 called Alpina version came on the market. The B10 3.5 E28 was built on the basis of the 535i, with the six-cylinder engine being brought to 261 hp after processing by Alpina. In 1983, Alpina received manufacturer status. Buchloer has long since matured into a globally active and recognized "manufacturer of exclusive automobiles" based on BMW. To this day, there is a close cooperation with BMW.
In this auction, one of a total of 77 BMW Alpina B10 3.5 of the E28 series from 1985 produced will be offered for auction. This offered copy is the number 12 of 77 with the VIN WAPBA35L05BA00012, which was first delivered to Japan. Over the years, the Alpina then came to Germany, according to the seller, it has a total of 3 previous owners. According to the seller, a very extensive documentation is available, and original documents from Alpina are also still available. The Alpina comes with 2 vehicle keys and has matching numbers. It already has an H-approval and the TÜV is freshly carried out before the handover.
A trademark of Alpina which could be ordered on request at that time: The famous decorative stripes. With this "alpine white" colour of the paint, they are kept in gold and are still completely preserved all around the BMW. After consultation with the seller, the Alpina B10 has never been repainted, which means that the E28 still wears the first alpine white paint. In view of this, the body condition presents itself in a very good condition for the age with only a few traces of use such as small paint chips. The exterior mirror mount on the driver's side is slightly faded, otherwise no major damage can be detected. The original Alpina front apron is still mounted specifically for Alpina and the typical Alpina rear spoiler is also located at the rear.
On the rear axle are tyres of the dimension 225/50, on the front axle 225/55 tyres of the brand Michelin brand are mounted in good condition. Complete the appearance: Original Alpina multi-spoke alloy wheels in perfect condition. The brake system shows no abnormalities and the chassis is also trimmed for even more sportiness as is typical of Alpina.
Alpina modifications are also available in the interior of the B10: For example, you can sit on grey sports seats with thigh rest adjustment and green-black centre stripe, your hands move directly onto the four-spoke leather steering wheel with Alpina lettering. The door panels are also in the same design as the seats. Except for a small hole visible in the center console, no damage can be attested to the interior. There is even the yellow warning sticker for the operation of the automatic transmission preserved. A rich equipment can be seen in the interior: there is an electric sunroof, electric windows front + rear, power steering, central locking, air conditioning, ABS and an accessory radio on board. Another Alpina highlight: The additional electric display in the dashboard for even more information on the condition of the technical vehicle components.
In the speedometer unit you can see red colored hands and black displays, the speedometer is currently at 91,419 kilometers. The total mileage of the Alpina B10 is extensively documented and there is even a checkbook available. All instruments in the interior have a flawless function.
The best can be found hidden under the sheet metal: the 3.5-liter in-line six-cylinder engine taken over from the 535i was brought to a whopping 261 hp after its Alpina cure. The torque is now just under 346 Newton meters at 4000 rpm. This power is coupled to a 4-speed automatic transmission. A service will be done before handover. Defects in the technology are not detected. A look at the underbody of the Alpina B10 reveals an absolutely rust-free and clean state of preservation. There are no complaints to be made here, for his age the fast limousine from Buchloe is in very good condition.
As can be seen in the picture, extensive documents are available for the Alpina, such as a certificate of authenticity from Alpina.
